Great replacement for Lighting Ever discontinued pucksIf you are looking for a replacement for discontinued Lighting Ever pucks, your search is over: this is the item. This item serves as a perfect replacement for "3W LED Under Cabinet Lighting, 230lm Kitchen LED Cabinet Lights, 25W Halogen Bulbs Equiv, Daylight White Puck Lights"Same wattage, same lumens, same amperage. My Lighting Ever originals started failing with time, so I was on a quest to find a replacement. I didn't even rewire (which would be a pain in my case) , I just replaced the puck right at the spot, cut the wires and reconnected.Important for connecting wire: my old puck had black and red wires. This one comes with black and black with gray stripes, so red maps to black and gray.5Great LED Puck LightsThese lights are great. As others have stated, they seem to be built well and feel like they are good quality. The cables on each light have a long reach, which was perfect for my needs (extending across an over-the-range microwave). I got the warm white and they are still pretty white, but don't exactly match the can lights in my kitchen. I have been leaving them on for extended periods of time and, they do get warm, but definitely don't run as hot as any other light since they are LEDs. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.5Inexpensive in price, but wonderful quality! This light kit was purchased in the soft white single puck style to upgrade lighting in my kitchen. We placed this underneath our cabinets in a dark corner, and I was quite surprised that such a soft white light could illuminate to this degree. The lights are bright enough that you can see everything you need to while not being intrusive. We ve had problems with puck lights in the past that got WAY too hot and worried us but this light stays cool even if you leave it on all the time. It was very easy to install and ended up being so sleek that you can t even see any of the metal past the ridge of our cabinets. However, even if placed in an open area, the design is attractive and expensive looking. The puck itself feels expensive in the hand and doesn t use any batteries (YAY SAVED MONEY!). I love this product and will be looking to purchase more for the rest of our cabinets. Best I ve found out of multiple light puck purchases in the past!5Good low profile light but light color variesBe careful ordering these at separate times. I bought this as a replacement for a different brand that stopped working. The color match was spot on for the warmth of light on the first one I ordered. The next one I bought was way whiter. So now I have three lights in a row that dont match. They go warm white, bright white and lastly warm white. I would suggest this brand, just buy them all at the same time and possibly one extra in case of a failure1A Big maybe.Comes WITHOUT hardware. In order to install these, you must countersink the mounting holes for flathead screws--regular heads and button heads won't allow the fixture to fully seat in the bracket. If you are doing a lot of installs, invest in a countersink that fits the limited amount of space in the bracket. I would not recommend this unit to the weekend warrior, but for an expert DIY'er, (meaning you own the tools), it's OK. Lots of light, color is "iffy" on a dimmer.3So Far So GoodBought this set primarily to go under some narrower wall cabinets where even 12" light bars would not fit. Extremely well made pucks but tiny flat head mounting screws don't sit perfectly flush inside of base ring, making installation something of a PITA. Using 3M Permanent Double-Sided Tape much easier and hold just as well (first photo). Color of light not very good; at 3000K still kinda harsh to the eye but made my brown faux granite countertops appear yellowish, as if the cat had peed on them (second photo); did NOT have this problem with warm white light bars from another company (Zhuy). Mention this because these Formica/pressboard CTs are like #1 best sellers at Lowes so chances are you own them too. ;-) Kinda remedied the problem by at first covering the LED openings with 120 patches of red (actually magenta) tail light repair tape through which I'd punched a ventilation hole, so that light from the emitter could shine directly down and only that from the surrounding reflector would pick up the tint (third and fourth photos). Worked well for a purer whiter seeming light over all, though the periphery did pick up a noticeable hue (fifth photo). Next solution was to peel off all the tape and just color reflector surrounds with Sharpies in Permanent magenta, orange and red (last two photos). This worked better for a more evenly blended light, but now am kinda missing the rosey glow of the repair tape, D'oh!Does not come with a switch but either or both of these two products will work fine with it:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R1YKNT6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MHKCTLE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Besides 100% 50% 25%, Remote actually has TWENTY discreet levels of brightness (plus some funny strobe/pulse sequences if you'd like to turn your kitchen into a disco, or simply torture dinner guests).4Excellent quality all around.I bought this set of three and another single light to rewire a curio/display cabinet. It took longer to get the old lights out than it did to install these, it was simple and straightforward. The quality is excellent - the casing is solid aluminum, very nice. The LEDs are even in brightness and color across all fixtures. No problems whatsoever with the wiring or mounting. The resulting light is bright and clean, I'm thrilled with the results. The LEDs are recessed enough in the fixtures that there is no glare from them at all.5Very nice, but may want to get a few "spares" and not exactly "warm white"Overall, the lights are a great deal for their quality. Very well made. I actually wanted to mount mine more flush so I took off the rings and was able to put them into my existing 2 1/2" holes from my old halogens. They actually would fit in a 2 5/16" hole if you removed the 3 little clips that are under the ring. End result is that the lights are flush with only a 1/16" flange visible from the side.ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE: I've had these for a few months now and, oddly enough I've had 3 of them die! I'm an electrician so I checked the power supply and it was well within specs. I contacted the company and they were very nice in replacing the units at no charge. However, I think I may buy a few more as "spares" for the future, when these may not be available any more. When a halogen bulb dies, it's easy, quick, and cheap to replace. But when one of THESE dies, you need to replace the whole lamp. Also, these are definitely not what I'd call "warm white". Compared to the halogens they are noticeably more blue/green. I'd say about 3500-4000k temperature. My wife says we can live with it, but I've ordered some Tamiya Acrylic X-26 Clear Orange paint which I've heard could be used to tint the LEDs to a warmer color. I'll update this review if/when I get around to that.4You get what you pay for. This is a well-made and attractive LED puck light. We used them to replace LED strip lighting. TWO ISSUES: 1. Warm White was ordered, although both illuminate bright light (we have other LED lighting for comparison.) 2. The puck lights are mounted on side-by-side shelf units, and there is a noticeable difference in light illumination. One puck is dimmer than the other. They are powered by separate AC adapters. It's an attractive light for the price, but the trade off is in the difference in quality assurance (whereas they illuminate differently), and accuracy of fulfilled orders.3A decent installation after extensive modificationI ordered these for under cabinet lighting. The supplied cords and extensions simply do not lend themselves to inconspicuous routing of feed wires for under cabinet lighting. I ended up clipping the wires fairly close to the pucks and then purchased a roll of 16/2 wiring designed for 12v use. With careful soldering and the use of shrink tubes, it is possible to make a clean custom harness once the bulky plugs and splitter is removed and thrown away, . I included a rocker switch that is set under one of the cabinets. These pucks get hot. Not hot enough to burn your hand but hot enough to feel uncomfortable against your arm. Therefore, I bought some longer #4 wood screws and screwed in a spacer to set the pucks about " off the bottom of my cabinets. Quite a bit of work but a nice installation.3
