Customer Reviews

I love this faucet... BUTI love this faucet, but be aware that the shanks are too short to install on granite counter tops. We needed to get Faucet Shank Extenders to compensate for the counter thickness. And, here's a word of caution - get the brass extenders rather than PVC, since the first set of PVC extenders cracked when tightened. Other than that, it's a great faucet -- no plastic parts, two handles (which I really like) and the sleek style.4Good QualityI recently replaced my kitchen sink with a new stainless steel one and the faucet needed to be replaced as well. So, I researched the web and found this American Standard which had good reviews and complimented my new sink perfectly and the style which I was looking for.I couldn t be more pleased with its performance. I highly recommend.5False advertisingThis faucet is falsely advertised. The photo shows it as a fixed faucet with a side sprayer which would be appropriate for a kitchen sink. In fact, the faucet has no sprayer piece and thus is really hard to wash dishes with. It might be good as a bathroom faucet but that not what I purchased for and not how it s advertised.1... installed this faucet a month ago and are very pleased with the quality We installed this faucet a month ago and are very pleased with the quality. Our plumber said it is a solid product and that appears to be the case. We ordered another one for our guest house! 5In use for over a year - Held up great!Purchased and installed this kitchen faucet over a year ago, has stood the test of time. Wanted to have a high arch faucet without getting to extreme in height and this filled the bill. I also wanted to make sure that the style was simple and without crevices to build up any excess dirt and this was as simple as I could get. Looks great and overall quite pleased with my purchase.5this faucet and sprayer is awesomeI just bought a kitchen faucet for $70 from a big box store that I thought would do the trick. It wasn't plastic, but it felt so cheap I knew it would not work for us. I ordered this one from amazon and it's really nice. It feels sturdy, it looks good, I really like the sprayer. It was so easy to install, we had it working in about 15 minutes, and nothing leaked when we turned the water back on. I don't review everything I buy from amazon, but I am really happy with the quality and appearance of this faucet, and the difference between this and the $70 one I bought at a big box store is crazy. I like the brushed finish too, it will look cleaner than a shiny one, and it matches the finish of my sink.5WOW...Water pressure at last!!!2.2. gpm made this the best thing I bought for my reno. I was very dismayed at the water pressure of a $600 dollar fancy high end beautiful faucet. I returned it and bought this at double the gpm. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. It might not be a fancy design, but I gladly swapped looks for function. If you like a standard contemporary look, this is perfect. I was going for more a more Victorian look but couldn't be happier with the performance. Months later, still thrilled. Fills my pasta pot up in a few seconds. The expensive faucet took a full minute.5The best there is at this price range...I absolutely love this! I needed a new faucet since I just bought an almost new Danby portable dishwasher and my old faucet was really old and it leaked with the pressure of the water when using the dishwasher. Trying to find an affordable faucet that is not made of plastic is a challenge these days. Having said that, please note this faucet is partially made with plastic, but there's more brass than most at this price range.I had another challenge in the fact that I installed this in a mobile home. I'm happy to say that this fit perfectly and it is (so far) holding up to the pressure of the portable dishwasher. The sprayer that came with mine is silver, not black, and works perfectly. I'm getting much better water pressure with this faucet and sprayer than I did with my old one. Installation was easy, and as other reviews have stated, the hard part was removing the old faucet. After that was done installing this one was easy. This faucet works with my Danby model DDW1899WP-1 portable dishwasher, but you must buy an adaptor that is specifically made for the dishwasher. After trying 2 different adaptors that did not work, I did a lot of research and I found one here on Amazon that does work with this model dishwasher. There is an OEM adaptor, Danby 086728 Tap Adapter, here on Amazon, but the price is $27.33 and it says it usually ships within 1 to 2 months. I did not want to wait 1-2 months to use my dishwasher, so I did some more research and found that these 2 adaptors will work just as well for under $8.: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GP9G4HI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Danco 10506 Dishwasher Aerator Adapter, Chrome or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005792KTS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Danco 36108E Portable Dishwasher Faucet Snap Nipple Aerator Adaptor. They both fit on the faucet and the Danby portable dishwasher. I've included this part because it was not easy finding this information as Amazon does not tell you which adaptors are compatible with which appliances, and it was other reviews that helped me figure this out. So I hope this helps someone else.I absolutely recommend this American Standard faucet.5Worth the money. My parents love it!!I bought this American standard faucet for my parents to replace the faucet I bought at Lowes and paid almost 100 bucks for the Lowes faucet. The water part on the bottom of the American Standard is made of brass so no more crappy plastic stuff like the Lowes one. I believe this one will probably last them for the rest of their life. It's nice and sturdy too for being a hook shaped faucet.5American Standard 4275.551.002 Think I beat the system. Bought this for half the price of identical unit sold by local big box retailer. Installed it myself in about an hour. Saved big bucks on labor. It's beautiful and works perfectly. Made my wife happy. Need I say more. 5Good value I have installed a few of these in different houses and apartments as we have moved. Singularly good value for the money. The oldest is well over 10 years and still working as it came out the box. I am sure higher quality for more money is great but I just want a faucet that does not leak. 5Reliable Standard Faucet and SprayerWe had a need to replace an old faucet at our house and wanted to get a name brand at a relatively low cost (we will be renovating our kitchen soon so this is likely only temporary). The install isn't easier or harder than any other faucet I've had, but keep in mind that you should take the opportunity to change out supply lines and you may need to replace the shutoff valves if they haven't been used in an extended time. Plan ahead, every job is a 15 minute job if you have the right tools. No leaking from any valves or connections, but you can feel the valves jerk pretty hard if the lines do not have air hammers but those will go in with the remodel.4Low Flow Rate - Water. This is a brand name item. Quality is good. Finish is good. Shipping was excellent. But, I have a tankless LP gas instantaneouos water heater. The hot water heater works by both water pressure and water flow. This kitchen faucet does not provide the flow rate to keep my hot water heater going. Turning on hot faucet, I do get hot water but the flow rate is not enough to keep my tankless water heater going - so the hot faucet goes cold. This DOES NOT apply to anyone with other types of hot water heaters. If you have a tank type water heater you will be fine. I replaced my kitchen sink and my kitchen faucet. My previous kitchen faucet was a Price Pfister and that worked perfectly all the time with endless hot water. The only reason I replaced the sink and faucet was that they were just worn and scratched with age and use. The Price Pfister was guaranteed for life and it did work perfectly but the chrome finish was not guaranteed for life and the chrome finish wore off. The tankless hot water heater does have adjustments. But I am not about to fool around with that one when I know that it worked fine with the Price Pfister. Therefore, I had to replace this new kitchen faucet with another brand. And yes, I did remove all the screens in this faucet - and that still was not enough. Very good faucet - and for most people this will be a fine product. I do recommend this for anyone with a tank type water heater.UPDATE: February 27, 2013.Faucet drips. Drip. Drip. Drip.I expected at least for the mechanicals to last longer then this. From now on look for a lifetime warranty. Other brands offer this.Do not waste any money on this product.Update: July 12, 2013Liftime Warranty.Dripping. Drip. Drip. Drip.Contacted American Standard customer service back in May.Warranty. They sent a packet with new plastic valves - one for hot and one for cold. The hot valve was the only one dripping. Cold was fine.Installed valve for hot water.Water problem worse.Cantacted American Standard again.Sent same plastic faucet inserts.Water problem the same. Constant flow this time.Contacted American Standard again.Sent same faucet inserts. This time I had a plumber come and read directions.Same problem. Constant running of water.Contacted American Standard again today. This time they are sending a complete new faucet. From May 2013 to July 2013 no hot water in kitcen sink. The cold was never dripping. It took from May 2013 to July 2013 for American Standard to send a replacement and to comprehend that the original faucet was broken/defective.2
