Small but acurate and well built This tool is very well made and is accurate out of the box with a certification of calibration. I checked it with a known wrench and it was spot on un like the other well know brand I bought just prier to this one. 5Decent wrench, but not as good as top shelf stuff I bought this to replace my $10 harbor freight wrench that had an extremely vague and mushy "click" when it hit it's setting. This concerned me for the delicate screws that are typically in this torque range. I bought this hoping it would have a much crisper click, but it's only moderately better. It's much easier to adjust to your spec than the HF wrench, but it's only slightly easier to read. Overall good wrench, but still not quite as good as some of the professional brands I've used at work. 4Torque Wrench Excellent, high quality. Looks like it will last a long time. Very easy to use. Shows foot-pounds as well as newton-metres. The range it has is perfect for a lot of automotive specifications.1/7/17 Edit: A few days ago I used it to torque down driveshaft bolts to its max setting (80ft.-lbs) then compared it to a big brand 1/2'' torque wrench that has up to 250ft.-lbs of range. I first used this one and then the other one to better compare accuracy, well after using this one and testing with the bigger 1/2 drive wrench, the bolts didn't turn any more, they both stopped at the same time. These wrenches are supposed to be more accurate in the middle to 3/4 range, not in the minimum or max settings, but after this test it's safe to say this small wrench is as accurate as a 1/2'' that has more range and probably more accuracy on the range of setting that I used. 5Torque to your content! I really like this thing. Used it to reassemble a transmission valve body after installing a shift kit. Specs required 35 in-lbs for most bolts; and the front band adjustment on the trans needs 120 in-lbs. So I got to use this little guy on both lower and upper ends of its range. I didn't have anything to test it's accuracy, but I've tightened enough bolts in my life to be able to feel consistency from bolt to bolt, and there was no discernable variation so I know it's consistent. The hand written calibration test results included with the tool seem legit enough for me to not worry about its tension being off either.Build quality is good. So good in fact I'm thinking of getting a ft-lb version for bigger bolts/projects.Sure, there are better more expensive torque wrenches, but for most of us shadetree mechanics, this is as good as you need. And it's far superior to anything you'll find at the typical big name auto parts stores (the one possible exception being Napa, who seem to have a good, though overly expensive line of tools). 5Poor quality and hard to use. The Capri branded box looked nice, but once I opened it I was disappointed. The build quality is clearly very poor, like something I'd get from Harbor Freight. For example the torque wrench click positions are very hard to read. The number imprinted on the tool are shallow and have poor sharpness because the tool is so cheaply made. Unless you catch the light just right it's almost unreadable. I couldn't imagine how someone older with presbyopia (poor short distance focus) would be able to read it at all. Such small markers need to be deep and sharp so they can be legible. The collar on the tool is also super flimsy, it's working for now, but I'm sure it will have problems down the line. Really considering returning this one and buying something higher end, this is really disappointing. 2Nice little wrench, but distributor needs to learn about FIFO inventory management. I agree its a nice looking device with excellent box and case. My problem is the calibration certificate specifies that the device should be recalibrated once each year or every 5000 cycles, whichever comes first.Based on this requirement that Capri has specified, my wrench arrives with 4 days remaining before it should have its calibration verified. Not a good customer experience.FIFO = "First In, First Out" (used to avoid accumulation of dated inventory)Amendment: I checked the wrench using actual weights and measured lever arm. I was impressed in that an applied load of 22.8 inch pounds did not "break" the wrench at a setting of 23, but it did break at 22 (amazing given low range of device). I tested again at a computed load of 62 inch pounds, and the device "broke" at 59/60 inch pounds but held at 61. This was repeated multiple times. This would be an error of about 1.5/62 x100 = 2.4% which is within specified capability. So good to go and increased to 4 stars from original 2. 4Worked fine first time I used it. Worked great, first time I used it. Tried it yesterday on oil drain plug to make sure it was working. Something wasn t right about it, it wasn t clicking. I finished the job with a regular wrench. Tried the torque wrench at low setting on a regular bolt and wouldn t ever click. Wound up snapping that bolt head off. Better than stripping out the threads on my oil pan. 1great tool I bought the 3/8 in torque wrench for my son's birthday. He is a motorhead and loves working on his Acura GSR. I chose the Capri tool because it has a 10-80 foot pound rating for torque. No other torque wrench had that range of foot pounds. He needed it for smaller applications on his motor. I also purchased a reducer set so he could use it with 1/4 in sockets. Great value and prompt delivery. 5This is a professional quality tool and is absolutely worth the the $ 89.99 price. You don't get something for nothing. I purchased this 2 weeks ago to re-assemble the upper and lower intake manifolds on my truck. The bolts were small, with an 8mm hex head. Torque specs were 59 inch-pounds for Step 1, and 96 inch-pounds for Step 2.Because the manifolds are aluminum, and a very low torque spec on the fasteners, I decided to spend an extra $ 50.00 for a professional quality tool, instead of a $39.99 cheapie that you can get at Wal-Mart, etc. Tools and equipment are two things I do not skimp on in regards to cost.I followed the break-in procedure provided and was very impressed with the fit, finish, and feel of the tool. The certificate of calibration has the serial number of the wrench, the date of calibration, and three readings for each setpoint, both CW and CCW. ( See attached scan )This torque wrench is an absolute joy to work with. I honestly could not be more satisfied. Consistent results every time, and perfect for those tight spaces. Four of the bolts on the rear of my truck's manifold were approx. 2 inches from the firewall; you could feel them, but they were completely out of sight. I have complete confidence that they were torqued properly. In case you are wondering, this is an unsolicited review. I did not receive anything in return, as some of the reviewers mention in their posts. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose; their reviews were accurate and enabled me to make a decision I do not regret. I am not a professional, just an old shadetree mechanic who knows that you don't get top quality tools at a bargain price.I have just ordered the 3/8 inch drive " bigger brother" version of this tool. It will be invaluable for torquing the spark plugs on my truck's aluminum heads. Specs are 10 - 15 foot-pounds for that job. Another tool at $ 89.99 is well worth the cost. There is nothing worse than stripping the threads in a tight spot. (Speaking from experience on that)Have a good day.John Johnson 5Good little wrench An accurate wrench that's hard to beat for the money. Passes my nos ~+/-1% CW torque analyzer tests with ease. I wish it went up to 250 in lbs - to fill the 10 to 20 ft lb range. 5
