Customer Reviews

NOT CUISINART...CHEAPNOT a Cuisinart skimmer. Cheap, made in India, short skimmer. Save your money, I could get a better one at a dollar store. You do not get the skimmer shown in the picture.1Measurements My mom was looking for the right metal turner so I ordered quite a few from Amazon for her to check out. The problem with Amazon is it offers so many products and not every product has a detailed enough description, e.g. length, weight, etc. Since I have done the legwork already, I might as well share the details with other potential buyers. For this turner:Overall handle length: 11.0"Length of shovel: 3.75"Width of shovel (widest part): 3.0"Weight: 4.6 oz (I would describe it as "well made but slightly light weight")Comfort of grip: 5/5I almost kept this one, but decided to pay up and get the VERTI instead, which is extremely well made.I finally decided to get the followings:Lower price point -Economy Stainless Steel Buffet TurnerEconomy Stainless Steel Buffet Turner, Slottedby sturdy collectionHigher price point -VERTI Stainless Steel Kitchen Utensil - Asian Turner / Stainless Steel Spatula with Ergonomic HandleVERTI Kitchen Utensil - Stainless Steel Slotted Turner / Slotted Spatula with Ergonomic Handleby M tierHope this helps! 4I LOVE THIS SPOON!!!I LOVE THIS SPOON!!! I started to develop some finger and hand cramping. Many of my stainless steel cooking tools were useless as I couldn't grasps the handles to stir, flip, and pour without a good grip. The handle on this spoon is thick and easy to grip. The handle is light because the great workmanship is without crevices for food to accumulate yet not heavy and weighted. So easy to cook and just the right size spoon.5Not worthNot the same as discription. Cheap product really dispointed. Sticker says it s cuisinart brand but it s not as you can see by the item1Just doesn't have a good "hand feel" to me but my husband seems fine ... Very long handle, very small "flipping area." Also I can't pinpoint why but seems hard to clean. Almost immediately began to show discoloration in the metal after using. Just doesn't have a good "hand feel" to me but my husband seems fine with it. It works I just wouldn't necessarily recommend. Expected more from this brand. 3Long Handle & Looks GoodI have both the slotted & solid versions of this spoon. The handle is quite long (@10.5 ) so reaches in to a deep pot. They both scoop a generous amount. They are really nice looking & good enough to put on a table or buffet. The handle is very comfortable. The slotted version is the one recommended by Cook s Illustrated. One of the spoons I ordered must have been run over in the warehouse because it arrived nearly flat ;( But Amazon quickly sent a perfect replacement.5Why I chose this one[NOTE since several products are lumped together on the same page, to be clear my review is for the SKIMMER]It was not a difficult choice to pick this model over some of the others sold here either a no-name flimsy looking product for twice the price or an all-stainless steel Cuisinart brand for a much more reasonable price. My final decision came down to this one or a similarly-low priced one from Faberware, another brand name I respect. The deciding factor is the shape. I guess it all depends on what you plan to do with a straining ladle and that s why there are different shapes. My primary use is to scoop cooked hamburger up out of the grease in the frying pan to drain it before dumping it into the recipe I m cooking. The wire-type of ladle is not suitable because the hamburger would just fall through the holes. The Faberware, while nice, is too deeply dished, which makes it difficult to scoop something up out of a pan and while the product is about the same diameter it doesn t let me scoop up as much food as the flat bottomed Cuisinart.I like the shape of the handle compared to some of the other brands. That is a little difficult to describe but in my words this one is more ladle-like compared to being more spoon-like. That affects the way it is held, with this style being more comfortable to me. I also like that the handle has more shape to it, compared to the Faberware for example that is more of a stamped piece of thin metal. Not that it has to lift a lot of weight but I do find the flat metal type of handle bends easier. The skimmer is a full 14 long, larger than expected but very pro quality. The product I received is labeled and boxed as a Cuisinart brand item with a lifetime warranty, some people have reported that s not what they got, perhaps they inadvertently received a returned product? It looks identical to what the seller s page pictures. It is labeled as being stainless steel, I can t tell, but I can say it has a very highly polished finish. This is a surprisingly well made utensil for the price though; it is large, heavy-duty and feels like something that would be used in a commercial kitchen. I also use it to skim the stuff from the top of homemade soup and to lift noodles out of the water or a colander. It is quickly becoming a must-have kitchen tool and I m sorry I didn t buy one years ago.5Deceptive product informationThe description says it is 16 long. The product that I received is 9 long.1got wrong itemLike the others, I received a weird Indian knockoff brand that is nothing like what I wanted. At least Amazon let me keep it without returning it. So if you want a strainer about half the size of the Cuisinart that's made of questionable material for free, order this and cross your fingers.1You will not receive a Cuisinart productI tried 3 times to order this product, opened multiple support tickets and indicated to the Amazon representatives I spoke to in each one that they had incorrect product data. All 3 times I received an Entrada Collection EN 12026 Chinese knockoff. Buyer beware.1Would not recommend in a million years. So this is definitely NOT cuisinart or the same spoon in the picture. Note there is no cuisinart written on the handle. This thing is flimsy and def not stainless steel. If you zoom in on my picture you can see the black coming through. This is absolutely going back, today. Do not buy.1Clearly Not The Described ItemI received a cheap version not the Cuisinart product described or pictured. I own the rest of this set and it clearly does not match as you can see in my picture by the size difference. The larger spoon in the picture is from the Cuisinart set with their name on it. I wished you could see who your order comes from when you are ordering when you expect it to come from an Amazon warehouse and not a third party. Zero stars!**update** I just received my replacement item. WRONG ITEM AGAIN!! Buying at Bed, Bath & Beyond now. Good luck, hope you get the right item if you order. The Cuisinart set is awesome and I love them! Too bad can't get this one yet.1
