Customer Reviews

Just what I wanted We just got done remodeling our bathroom, & we made it bigger, I have a linen closet that is right by my bathroom door, and didn't want to put the door on the linen closet, so I decided to put a curtain up. This curtain goes nicely with my colors, I didn't realize that they were going to have a shine to them, but the shine isn't really shiny, so that didn't bother me much. The color looks like the picture. I'm going to put pictures up when I get them back from the cleaners, my linen closet was only 17"X 76" so had to get them altered, but was glad to find out they could make 2 out of the 1 panel, so this way when the one I put up, after it gets old, I have a extra new one to put up :) 5Beautiful These are beautiful. I ordered the chocolate a few years ago and loved them so much that after a living room redo, I ordered them again. I went with the river blue this time. The river blue has a bit more green to it than the picture shows, but I still loved the color. When unfolding them from the package, some of the backing sticks in spots and causes little holes that you can see through when they're hung. I got some white fabric paint to take care of that. These curtains do have a 'sheen' to them. They definitely have a shiny look, not a matte look. I would definitely purchase again. 5Great light pattern for a subtle decor Nice set of drapes for the price. Provides for good light filtering and looks very nice. I like the unique pattern vs. a plain color drape. Only wish was they that could add weights in the bottom seam, but I resolved that myself by inserting large metal washers to keep the hanging straight. 5Took a chance, no regrets, extremely pleased. I am very pleased with this purchase. I purchased the brown and they are very nice looking and look way more expensive than they were. I love the ring patterns which fit my decor perfectly. They match my shades of green and blue. There is possibly gray too but not sure. They block light effectively and keep cold drafts out. The package stated three levels good (which these are) and better and best and breaks out features. For me I am good with this level because it really is well made, looks super nice with just a bit of sheen, and it does a nice job of keeping light and cold out for being just their lowest end of the line. I threw in dryer with wet towel for 20 minutes per pkg directions and wrinkles came out. I did not need to iron. Price is excellent and I am going to order a send set or two. One in a spring color for later and even though these are quite adequate in width I may put a 3rd one up for more fullness for my slider. This is one of my Amazon purchases that I love and will do again. No regrets on this one. 5Pleasantly suprised, but with a few cautions The color beige was not available when I placed my order, but since I really liked the pattern, I settled on linen. As it developed, linen was exactly the color I wanted in the first place. It is a slightly grayish beige color (not off-white, as I had expected), with circles in three shades of medium brown to light tan. The reflectivity of the yarn used for the lighter-colored circles gives the impression of gold. The material is 100% polyester. The yarn of the background material is spun in such a way that the cloth does not appear very shiny overall. Attractive. However, in one spot there were several strands of yarn sticking out of the fabric--apparently the yarn broke during weaving, and no one bothered to trim it. In a subsequent order of four panels, two had to be returned for noticeable blemishes and a scratch through the fabric. There were also turquoise marks in the fabric around the grommets, but they faded a bit during a wash and were not noticeable from a distance. So...I suggest that you inspect the product very, very carefully.About the grommets several questions and several variant answers to those questions have been posted. On the set of Eclipse Meridian Blackout Grommet panels I received, the grommets measured exactly 1-5/8 inner diameter (measured twice); the finish is antique brass. A 1-inch diameter rod would be ideal. Are they truly blackout ? Not 100%. They will do an adequate job for my situation, but viewing a window through one of the panels, I still could see the slots of light shining through the spaces between the Venetian blinds behind it. Others may seek more complete light blockage. The wrinkles from being folded in the packaging are quite persistent. First, I put the drapes in a dryer on "low" with a damp dish towel for 20 minutes per the instructions. Very little effect. Then I completely washed and dried them--a little better, but not much. If they don't hang out, ironing will be the last resort--BUT the instructions say no steam and don't iron the backing! So ironing appears to be a walking-on-eggshells proposition. In sum, for my situation, I am pleased with the appearance; wish they could be washed and dried at higher temps to resolve the wrinkles, and could be ironed at a higher temperature. 3... house and now have a ton of windows - great for letting in light - not so great when ... We recently moved to a new house and now have a ton of windows - great for letting in light - not so great when it gets cold. I have a total of 11 of these panels. I'm thinking I should have ordered more. They come out of the package ready to hang. They have a few creases from being folded, but those came out easily enough after being on the windows for a couple of days. These curtains are perfect for blocking out the light and the cold. I can really tell the difference in temperature from when the curtains are open and when they are closed. And honestly, I couldn't make them for the price Amazon is selling them. They look fresh and clean and modern and I just love them. The grommets are nice and large so the curtains slide open and closed with almost no effort. My only negative comment is that I wish they were wider. I have a sliding glass patio door and had to purchase three of the panels to cover the opening. Not a deal breaker, but I would have been happier with a single panel that was triple wide. Would I recommend these? In a heartbeat. Am I happy with them? Absolutely. Are they worth the money? Without a doubt. Heck, I'm thinking of ordering more of them just to have on hand. I could make them into matching pillows. Maybe a valance for my tiny kitchen window. The possibilities are endless. On a serious note, these curtains are easily worth the money and they do block out the light and the cold. I suspect this summer I will love them just as much when the hot sun tries to come thru my windows. 5After just a year of use, I decided to ... After just a year of use, I decided to wash them ( the label states machine washable) and this is what happened (see photos). The curtains are now filled with countless holes after just 1 wash done on the gentle cycle. Don't buy these or any other eclipse curtain, I purchased 6 of these for my entire home spending hundreds of dollars and all for nothing. 1Nearly full blackout I purchased these for my parrots' room. We had light cotton curtains in the room, which was sufficient until my husband started Skyping from home five days a week at the crack of dawn for his job. Now, even with a door and a floor between the birds and my husband, the combination of daylight filtering into their room and his activity was disturbing them and waking them up too early, which is bad for them and also threatens to interrupt the Skype meetings (the birds can be quite loud). These curtains have solved this problem! It stays nearly pitch-black in the bird room. These are not full-on, complete-darkness blackout curtains, but they do block 99% of the light coming into the room. In general, the darker the fabric the darker the room, and so I got these in black. The design on these was not easy for me to determine from the photos. They are a semi-shiny black with a pattern of large, interlocking silver and bronze circles. The grommets are a shade that matches the bronze circles. Overall they have sort of a retro mid-twentieth century vibe. If I move and the birds end up with a room with more windows, I would purchase more of these curtains. 5Poor Quality. Zero Customer Support. Panels arrived stuck together. You could not unfold without the white backing tearing. What's worse, is that I wrote to the manufacturer, Eclipse, not once, but TWICE with no response. It's been over a week since my first email to them and 2 days since the second. You learn a lot about a company by how they handle problems... I learned that they don't support their products or their customers. It's really a shame too because the design is really pretty and I wanted this to work out. 1Don't wash these drapes! EVER! I purchased these drapes to supplement existing drapes in a house I purchased. They matched the old ones perfectly and I was initially very pleased. After realizing the folds were not going to disappear without ironing or steaming them, I decided to iron them (not having a steamer). On taking them down, I saw that the older panels were dusty and dirty and needed laundering so I machine washed them on a gentle cycle in cold water without bleach. The tags on them say, "100% Polyester, Hand wash cold with similar colors. do not bleach, line dry, warm iron if needed." When I took them out of the machine, the white backing material had stuck to itself so tenaciously that it pulled away in large patches when I smoothed them out flat for hanging wet to dry. Figuring that the sun damaged the backing over the years and caused this I was disappointed but undersstanding. I saw that washing had softened the texture of the fabric and it hung more loosely than the new ones that were stiffer. Therefore, I decided to also wash the new panels to see if they would soften to hang more like the old ones that I had washed. The tags on the new panels say, "100% Polyester Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, wash with like colors. Use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Line dry. Warm iron if necessary." Adhering the laundering instructions, I washed the new panels. But, when I removed them from the washer, the white backing material, again, adhered to itself, although not as much as the older ones, but still enough to cause significant patches pulling away from the fabric. I hung them wet to dry with the others. From the inside, without exterior light shining through them, they look nice. They exactly match the older drapes and their texture matches after the washing. However, when lit from outside (see photo #3), there are obvious patches of light shining through the fabric where the backing is missing. I enclose photos of the inside of the drapes (photo #2)and from the outside (photo #1) so you can see how extensive the damage is.If you purchase these lovely drapes, don't wash them, EVER! I would only vacuum them or take a damp cloth and wipe them down. I like them so much I've ordered replacement panels all round. This time they will stay unwashed. I'm not sure about ry cleaning. The tag doesn't address it. 3
