Works Amazingly Well This little milk frother speaks for itself, really. It works very well. It's battery operated, so there's no fussing with cords. I use rechargeable batteries in it and haven't had to change them out yet in the past month, even with using it multiple times a day. It's brushed stainless steel and I like the way it looks. I leave it sitting out on my counter with my French press and my teakettle because they all get used daily and look nice together. The grip fits well in my hand, and it's weighted at the bottom, so it sits upright without any assistance when I need to put it down. It has three settings: off, medium and high. I use the high setting for frothing milk and the medium setting for other things like scrambling eggs or mixing bouillon broth.I've tried other frothers, but don't like them as much as this one. It froths milk quickly and does a superb job of it. I use the frothed milk for spiced chai tea lattes and regular coffee lattes. I even use it cold and make iced lattes with frothed milk.I would highly recommend this product. It's fun, easy, and makes the most delicious, perfectly frothed milk. I haven't purchased a single cup of Starbucks coffee ever since I got this little gadget. 5Making a ceasing type noise after one month of use...stirring tea.Wanted to like it, feels sturdy yet a month or so in and it's making grinding or ceasing type of sound, sometimes speed one does not even spin, and then speed two is too fast for a simple stir of a cup of tea...spills over the edge. Another flaw is there is not enough stopping distinction between the two speeds...e.g. its super easy to slip into second speed by accident. I'm going to return it. I chose this because of all the great reviews, my reality is quite different. 2Mixed resultsAn over-powerful tool that sends hot milk everywhere if using an average sized coffee cup. As a result I switched to a large cup for less coffee. The medium button is also hard to access....the switch just naturally slides into high speed with the lightest touch..then it takes two hands to maneuver the switch backwards. But...I just discovered it makes a good immersion blender! So maybe it will endear itself on that basis. However I would not but again or recommend as a brother. 3... this for Bulletproof Coffee & have been using something like a VitamixIf you're using this for Bulletproof Coffee & have been using something like a Vitamix, DO NOT EXPECT SIMILAR RESULTS.Will this froth the top of something? With a much larger container than needed because the conical shape it creates when using it is SO tall (yes, I made a huge mess the first time) yes.But it did NOT look OR TASTE the same as when I blend mine in my Vitamix, so just know that. And that's ok, it's a different product. But so many positive reviews saying it was great for bulletproof coffee were misleading to me. Yes, it tackled the (melting in boiling coffee) Ghee, but under the (less than impressive) foam, the coffee itself looked like when I'd tried adding oat milk or something else & it didn't blend the same in my blender... it's MUCH darker & watery/more bitter than when using the real blender where the coffee stays a pale, creamy color throughout & has a richer, creamier taste. If you're used to/like your bulletproof coffee darker/more watery AND you're ok using a much taller cup/glass than the 'size' of your coffee to prevent spillage (& not dirty another glass, hence the desire to purchase this product), then this will do the job. Though, the one thing I didn't like is the on/high/off switches should be reversed. When it's out of control and I wanted to turn it off, you actually have to hold it with one hand and push the button back towards the ceiling to turn it off. It would be easier to push down with one hand. 2Does the job! Has the power and style of the more expensive models but reasonably priced. Great whisk for the bucks!Well my 10 year+ latte frother/beater finally 'bit the dust' as they say. Now I've been forced to find a replacement as it was not only my favorite frother but my morning egg whisker for breakfast burritos! My first replacement purchased via Amazon was the Aerolatte which was a great frother but struggled when it came to scrambling eggs and other dense liquids. You would have to "pre-scramble" the eggs first which kinda defeats the purpose. So great frother (and yes I know, that's why it is called a frother), poor on dense liquids. The second replacement was the Cafe Casa after reading the reviews of how powerful the unit was with its 15,000 rpm motor and 2 settings. I am so happy I took the chance as this stylish frother lives up to its reputation. It's not as powerful of my original unit that died, but at least it beats out the Aerolatte.First off, this baby comes with its own customized box and a bamboo spoon (don't ask about the spoon, have no idea but a nice perk to have since you never know when you may need it).Style: It's pretty slick looking as is stainless steel with a lightly brushed finished. It's easy and comfortable to use, clean, and comes at a great price. It doesn't come with a stand but it can stand on its own. Of course, there is nothing stopping you from using an old stand as I have two of which this unit fits perfectly.Power: Does the job! I usually set it on the high setting for scrambled eggs and low for frothing. It also does an exceptional job on hot cocoa, cappuccinos and whip cream. Definitely a keeper and no need for me to look further for a replacement chordless gadget right now.Price: Has the power and style of the more expensive models but reasonably priced. Great whisk for the bucks. 5Powerful; great quality built; but one unpleasant design flawThis frother, like others have noted, feels heavy and well built. Its motion is very powerful. It remains to be seen if it eats batteries fast but those provided are welcome. I would have rated it 5 stars if it was not for the power switch. It needs to be moved vertically, between 3 positions (off, LO and HI). It has a very (too) smooth , slippery surface, with detent positions that are strongly defined. If your hand is wet in the slightest, as is often the case when preparing coffee, it is very hard to move the slide switch down in a controlled way - or up to the OFF position when the frothing is done. A simple push-down button, with a single off-on position would have provided far better ergonomics through haptic feedback. I have strong fingernails so I manage, but if it is not the case, do pick another model. If it was not for the solid, quality feeling build, I would have been inclined to just give it 3 stars. The difference between the LO and HI position is minimal and seems more like a marketing ploy. My advice to the manufacturer: Change the slide switch into a push-button (either at the top or on the side), keep the present motor and case and you will have a top notch unit. 4Works great for about 6 monthsI bought this to help mix supplement drink powders with water while traveling. The 1st one worked so good that I ordered another about 6 months later for use at home. Shortly after the new one arrived, the older one's speed while immersed began to decay rapidly. Now, after about 8 months of use, the older one is so week, it is almost of no use to me. I have changed the batteries several times, hoping that it was just bad batteries, but I have concluded that the motor is just wearing out.update: 8/30/2018Amazing. After posting this review, I received two unrequested replacements in the mail. Great customer service. We'll see if these stand the test of time. Will update after another 6 months, or so. 4The KitchenAid Mixer of Milk FrothersI bought this to replace my IKEA frother. I have been enjoying tea lattes a lot lately, but the frother I had was just not living up to the task and I knew there had to be something better that didn't cost a fortune.IKEA:I bought my IKEA frother years ago on a whim. Sure I now had a frother, and it did last for years, but the power was really low - frankly, it was anemic. And the performance was unreliable. It could take forever to actually froth the milk. The wand had gotten bent (despite fairly gentle use), which also negatively affected the performance. About a year ago, the battery flap started flipping open during use and eventually just wouldn't ever stay closed: I had to resort to sealing it shut with some tape. This upgrade to CafeCasa has been. Amazing. Amazing. I'll say it again. Amazing!CAFE CASAPROSThis Cafe Casa frother froths up a storm. The motor on high is 15,000 rpms. On its "low" setting, it's a mere 13,000. But who's going to park it on low? Just jack it up full force, get that Latte going. You'll be glad you did. In froths my milk in a fraction of the time of the IKEA frother, and builds up even more head in that short time. And this frother has heft. The handle is super sturdy. Lovely actual stainless steel handle (not plastic with a coat of metal over it) . The handle even has finger grooves to make it easier to hold if your hands are wet or slippery. The frothing wand itself is very solid and unlikely to bend accidentally, and the whip portion is significantly larger than the IKEA one, which helps explain why it froths so much better and faster. The Cafe Casa Frother is also a tank. It weighs 8.6oz (245g) with the batteries loaded. It's basically a power motor incased in steel. Think KitchenAid mixer of milk frothers. From the weight, I have to assume the interior mechanics are metal as well (not plastic, so in that sense, has potentially more longevity than even Kitchen Aid Mixers which does have plastic motor parts. To be fair, I have not opened this up, so I don't know for sure that it's all metal parts, but I can't explain the heft otherwise. For those of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s and remember how appliances felt when they were still made all out of metal, this has that feel. It's the kind of appliance you'd see at your grandma's house: it's not gussied up and fancy, instead it's simple and elegant and does the job incredibly well, and never, ever dies (I'll let you know if it does, but I expect it will outlive me).I do want to highlight one thing: the little cover piece at the base of my wand didn't touch the handle, which looked like a flaw when I first saw it. I called the seller (on a Saturday) to find out whether this was normal or a manufacturing defect. Within 5 minutes, the seller had called and confirmed this is intentional to prevent friction between the wand pieces and the handle. There is probably some variation between the individual frother assemblies, where some might have more of a gap than others, but my gap, it appears, is normal. That being said, the lovely lady on the phone said she would replace it if it was an issue, so top marks for that, too.I will say, part of what impressed me was how quickly the company got back to me (like I said: within five minutes on a Saturday) to answer my questions and to make sure that I was satisfied with the product even if that meant replacing it. They encouraged me to call back anytime if I had any concerns. Superb customer service, in my opinion. There are CONS, but the PROS are so solid that I am not inclined to even knock a star for them.CONS:Some of the assembly feels a touch imprecise. While the battery compartment closure mechanism feels very sturdy, you can see a slight gap at the base of the handle where the battery compartment closure connects to the handle. The gap doesn't signal any type of failure, it's just that I feel the need to point it out. The other con is that the switch in theory has Off/Low/High, but the "middle stop" isn't all that noticeable in terms of haptic feedback (that is, you don't necessarily "feel it" when you have hit "low"), and you might have to go to high and come back to Low. But I just slip into high. I don't even know why there needs to be a low setting. But if for some reason you are into frothing on "low" you might find it a tad annoying. Calling it out.For me, these issues do not affect performance or reliability for me at all, so I'm not dinging the score.Overall, I am very happy with my new frother. 5Best one out there!!I have used a few on the market and the Cafe Casa is the most professional looking high quality mixer of all of them. The stainless is very nice looking and the whole unit has more weight than you would imagine. I found the others to feel flimsy almost toyish in the hand, not to mention fragile. This one has the weight to stand up on its own and looks great doing it. The multi-speed motor is a major plus also has plenty of power even on low. The battery door is very sturdy and the where the mixer attaches is stainless also not plastic like the others. if you buy this you won't regret it had it in 2 days as usual with my Prime. Take this some whipping cream and a little sugar and it's a snack on its own or freeze it and got Cool home made whip and you get to control the amount of sugar. Even my kids have a ball with it they've used it more than I have. Going to buy another worth every penny. 5Powerful but poor designThis frother is heavy, powerful, and good quality but has a fatal design flaw. The on/off switch is MUCH too far down on the unit, which puts your hand too close to whatever you are frothing. My prior unit: 1) was rechargeable; and 2) had an activation switch located on TOP of the unit. That's what I'm looking for but apparently those are no longer made. Leave it to developers to ruin a good thing! 3
