    Works great with 12VAC outdoor productsI took the chance that this product would be compatible with the 12VAC system I have in my lawn. The lights I received where indeed compatible and give off a good amount of light, more than enough light to replace the existing light I had installed. All I needed was to weather proof the cable splice and I was all set. I have spent hundreds on LED "Profolio" branded lights from Lowe's only to have them burn out... I must have killed at least 4 lights at $35 each. I will give it a few months to see if (or how fast) these burn out, but I'm hopeful as other reviewers claim that they have been able to drive the lights up near the 17V mark with no issues. That should help insulate the electronics from inrush/surge at least a little bit.4Lots of usage options...This is a rather strange and overbuilt light that you can do a lot with considering the low price. I use it as a warm yellow 12v floodlight in my RV. The bail appears to be mounted on the wrong side, which causes it to collide with the wire and limit its rotational angle. But you can reverse the bail and get a lot more swivel out of it. You can also take the back box off and reverse the direction the wire comes out. The box is aluminum and well made, so you can add switche(s) and/or additional power jacks in its ample space which also seems to be waterproof. You would pay more than the price of this light for such a top quality project box, so the light is a bargain just to get the box. The junction box only exists to hold a small shrink-wrapped board that enables the light to operate intermittently on a limited current such as PV panel. See photo of the board. For my RV I deleted the board and use it without the box and it works fine. You can still mount it by its bail and get swiveling action. All in all you can buy this thing and fiddle with it until it fits your application. Its unusual to find a product with so many options.5I have 8 of these for my landscape lighting on my houseThese are great for the cost for landscape lighting.... much better than any of the store brand flood lights. I had a bunch of Malibu 20 watt lights.... they were terrible and required constant bulb replacement. These I installed once... and never had to do anything since. I only had them a year... but they work like a champ!One complaint... you need to paint them out of the box. The super thin powder coating is bad... and in a month they look pretty bad. I painted mine with a Rustoleum "Primer and Paint in one"... and they look great month after month.That was a small project in itself (painting them).... but at least I get the light that I want at a cheap price point that is better performing than what Home Depot or Lowes sells!4Solar Shed Outside Flood Light ApplicationI ve been installing solar power in my backyard shed and I wanted two outdoor 12 volt DC flood lights for exterior lighting. I read the specs and reviews and thought this might just be what I need. So I ordered them, tested them with a 12 volt battery, and thought this looks promising. So I mounted one on the peak of my shed and pointed it at about a 45 degree angle. Fed the leads through the drilled hole and wired it to my 35 ah 12 volt battery which is powered by a 50 watt solar panel and charge controller via a 12 volt DC timer I purchased here on Amazon. I caulked the penetration, programmed the timer and was ready for the night.It looks good to me for a small 12 volt light, a little on the warmer yellow side, but bright enough to help light up my dark backyard. It s been up for about 3 nights so far and last night we had a rain storm. The light seemed to handle the wet conditions good, the light kept shining. I ve got it programmed to turn off and on several times during the night for a total run time of about 6 hours. It s nice that the current this light draws is a little under 1 amp, so it doesn t take a huge battery and solar panel to keep it going.My one disappointment with the build quality of this light is the very small gauge wire leads it has. I understand with minimum current flowing to the light large wires are not required, BUT it sure makes it challenging to wire it into my existing system wiring. Maybe the manufacturer will read this post and increase the size to something easier to work with like perhaps 16 gauge.Anyway, it is working good for me so far in my solar application as an outdoor light. Hope this helps with your decision.Update - 5 months later. Now have 2 of these running at night, still shinning bright! I have noticed some condensation forming inside the light fixture on the glass but it does not affect the operation of the light. Also, the 4 screws holding the faceplate in place have begun to rust, so don t think they are stainless steel. Hope this helps.4Not 10WThese do light up with a pleasant "warm white". However, they are NOT 10 watts; measured with very good instrumentation they are pull only 7.3 watts,so the LED bank uses roughly 6.5 watts (assuming a generous 90% efficiency on the power supply). At the typical 60-70 lpw for a run of the mill LED these lights do350-450 lumens. Sure, OK light, but nothing close to the advertised numbers. I would love if the specifications would be real numbers notinflated by 30%-60%. These do work on 12V DC and 12V AC as well, actually I pushed them all the way to 15V with no harm, they have an internal power switchingpower supply and the current drops as the voltage increases (so they never pull more than 7.5 watts)3Seems like a decent value for $9 shipped. Direct drive LED (DC powered), decent build, warm color, moderate output.Seems like a decent value for $9 shipped.Mine came with markings on the box indicating 80-230vAC input... CAUTION, mine was direct drive, no driver board at all, just wires straight to the LED chip. It had a Red(almost brown looking) and White wire. I opened it up and found the wires were directly soldered to the LED emitter, the Redish/brown one to the + side.POWER- I hooked this up to my bench top power supply and set the voltage to 13volts, the emitter drew 450mA. I tried a range of 9-16 volts, it was pretty dim at 9v and reached its peak around 13v. I found a cheap switching power supply rated at 12v/550mA and wired it up, it works great. According to my measurement, this is only about 6 watts, not 10w. It doesn't seem to produce any heat during operation.Brightness- I have a semi-calibrated light box that I feel is a pretty good estimation, I'd say mine is putting out about 175 lumens. It is a nice warm color and the flood is very wide, even, and free of artifacts. It's a nice amount of light although not exactly blinding.BUILD- I cant say if the hardware will rust, I just got mine. The body is sturdy enough, the seams seem to be sealed well with silicone orings and the glass looks to be quite thick. I'd say for the price it is built very well.For reference, I've attached a few pictures of the construction and two pictures of our rec-room in the pitch dark only illuminated by one of these flood lights.I would buy more of these, I'm very pleased for $9 shipped.4I'll probably buy more I installed 3 of these on my shed, connected to a 12v deep cycle marine battery which is powered by a 100w solar panel. My charge controller indicates 0.2-0.3amps consumption per light so they're definitely not 10w. Still, they're bright and have been reliable for the last month suffering through direct sunlight and snow alike.I also have all three hooked up to a microcontroller 4 channel relay board and made a little android app to toggle them on and off when my dogs go outside. I stress tested the heck out of the system with hundreds of on and offs in an hour without issue. I'm extremely happy for the price and they're adequate for my lighting needs. I'd say they have an effective range of about 15 feet and anything after that remains mostly dark in my yard. Thinking of getting one or two for camping needs, could easily sling a bungee behind the bracket and strap to a tree. I have an 18ah battery and another solar panel that would likely keep my camp indefinitely. These are NOT whitish at all, the light output is much more yellow than I expected. Not a problem... kind of a nice change from the blue LED solar lights I have everywhere else in my yard.No issues connecting, I was worried I'd get a mislabeled/misshipped unit (or...3 wrong units) based on some reviews, but all were 12v, fired up instantly, and were a piece of cake to install. 5AwesomeLittle lights for the price.Awesome little lights for the money. Bought these to use camping. Bought a $20 12 amp hour battery which will give me 14 hours of light per light and set them up in my backyard to test. Love them, they are not obtrusive and light it up light I have a couple 1500 lumien lanterns on. Enough light to get around . Bought 4 and have 2 set up for the test. Going to run them for 5 hours and shut them down. Tomorrow I need to test a couple briefcase solar chargers I bought at a cheap tool store I know many of you shop at and see if they charge my battery's back to full. Again great for the price.1 photo with lots get off and 1 with just 1 on. Much better with 2 on.5Absolutely Great ValueUpdate 6.20.2017: These have all been working flawlessly for over a year.These are a 5-star value, with a few flaws. I bought eight of these for wall-wash lighting, and installed them all yesterday, so can't speak to their long-term durability. As others have mentioned, the power cords are ridiculously short, with only about an eight of an inch of exposed 18 gauge wire to work with (so virtually impossible to use, right out of the box). I had to use a razor to cut back the insulation around both wires on each unit, and then use wire strippers to expose more bare wire. I'm not an electrician, but the polarity didn't seem to matter, as I could swap the wires back and forth on the transformer connections with the same result (light output).I didn't think they were as bright as some of the other reviewers, but they're still sufficient for my needs, and they make good wall-wash lights. Also, of the eight of them, two had a yellower hue than the rest, which I'm still on the fence about whether they're usable.Without inspecting any of them for quality, I inadvertently noticed the the wires on one unit were already pulling out of the housing grommet. They still seemed to be secure once extended beyond the grommet, but I pushed them in and added some silicone around the grommet. The unit still worked, but it didn't inspire much confidence in their long-term water resistance. I plan to go back and thoroughly silicone all of them in an attempt to maximize their life, but only time will tell how well they'll hold up.All in all, these units are great at $10/each. I'll probably even buy a few more as backups, but even with that cost factored in, they're still a great value.I've added a few pix showing my application of these lights. I still need to cut some of the plants back to let more light through, and probably put some of the lights on stakes to raise them up a bit, but at least you can get a decent sense of their pattern and brightness (the lights on the far right of the second pic, about halfway up the house, are wall sconces, and not these units - these units were only used on the front of the house and were all placed directly on the ground).4Everything I was Hoping ForVery bright and compact. I bought this because it was cheap enough to mod into the application I needed and it had the "tungsten-balanced" color temperature to make working under it comfortable.Any downsides? Not really. This is definitely a Chinese product with the typical cheap build quality, but it's under $15, so you really can't complain.5nice light, low current and brightIf your looking for bright light at low power this will do it. This 12 volt bright light runs relatively cool compared to the 120 volt version. Even if I did not have a shed full of 12 volt power, I would choose the unit that runs cool to warm over a unit that runs dam hot any day (and in a storm its easier to find 12 volts than 120). Light levels are about the same, with the 120v version slightly whiter. The specks say this unit draws .8 amps at 12 volts.. I measured it to be a half amp tops at any voltage up to 17 volts. So its not really a 10 watt lamp (but who cares, its bright) With a current level that low any good 1 amp 12 volt power pack should handle it (and a car or boat battery should power these for a long time). At around 10 volts these pull even less current but still produce a very useablr and still reasonably bright light. (under 10 volts the ight gets dim then flickers out around 9 volts).Pretty much a handy light to keep around the car boat or house. Just add a longer cord and whatever you need to power it.4
