Simple but it worksThis is half the cost of the all glass Hario server but works well enough. I wish the lid doubled as a drip stopped like the all glass model, but this works well enough given how cheap it is. Would recommend this given how well it's served it purpose thus far.4Great carafe, but fragile!I've been using this carafe daily for over a year now. I brew anywhere from 400-500ml of coffee everyday and keep it warm on the stove on our glass top cooktop. Initially I was using a heat diffuser that my husband made me out of a copper welding rod, but I was afraid it was going to scratch the glass, so I just started placing the glass carafe directly on to one of the smallest burners on low and I've had no issues. The burner even got turned on high once by our cat (don't ask) and I was sure it was going to crack, but it didn't. The carafe shows no signs of wear. However, I will note that it is very fragile! There is a small chip on the rim that I assume is caused by my V60 brewer. There's a ridge under the brewer that lines up directly with the chip when it's sitting on top of the carafe. The chip is getting worse, so the carafe will have to be replaced in the next couple months. I'll still buy another Hario carafe, but if it chips again I'm probably going to have to find another alternative. I'll also note that I've only ever hand washed the carafe. I usually just swirl water around and give it a quick rinse.I've attached a photo of the heat diffuser in case anyone is interested in making their own. I think you can get a welding rod at the hardware store for under $1.4Before it broke I had loved it. The shape was perfectVery fragile. It broke in less than a month. Before it broke I had loved it. The shape was perfect. But I knocked it over on my granite counter accidentally and it cracked easily.2Great everyday coffee serverI use this coffee server in tandem with my Hario V60 size 2 dripper and it works very well. The notches on the outside are very helpful for measuring how much coffee you're brewing, and the filter top makes it easy to pour from the container while keeping some of the heat in. I haven't tried reheating coffee in this but the packaging did say it is all microwave safe, including the plastic handle. The glass is pretty thin and I assume it is easy to break so you need to be very careful. Also because it is thin glass, it doesn't hold heat very well. Your coffee will cool off quickly if you leave it in there, so this is not a good option if you want to brew ahead and enjoy your coffee more than 20 minutes later.5I'm addicted to anything with the word Hario in itI am becoming addicted to anything that has the name Hario with it. I was first introduced to their coffee cone for making my one cup of coffee. Then I wanted to have something I can put into the microwave as some of my guests (we do a lot of entertaining) wanted their coffee piping hot. This is great when having guests. I also purchased the 600 ml for my personal use. Can not use on top of the stove. Can only heat in the microwave.5Nice and works well, but fragile glass and handle is flimsy feelingWorked great as a carafe, poured well, fit with the V60, too. But very easy to chip at the pour spout, as the handle is loose and its easy to over compensate when moving it around because it wiggles a bit. After the pour spout chipped, the whole front cracked off, later. Won't buy again, but mostly because I'm a bit clumsy coupled with the loose handle.3Versatile from Fridge to Stove Top to Microwave I have been using HARIO's pots to make tea and coffee for many many years. I make ginseng and gojiberry tea every night on the stove top (boil 15 minutes on medium heat) with it. As long as you put the plastic handle away from the stove it will be fine. Otherwise, the handle will melt -- I learned that from experience. I have been using the one in the photo for more than 10 years. I use the V60 when I have to serve more people. Both work the same. This is a great and versatile product. 5Excellent Server, But Be CarefulThese servers are great- just the right size for my pour over (large Beehouse), ml measurements, microwaveable for anyone who is into that. I have to say, there is something satisfying about brewing your coffee into one of these, swirling it around, and pouring it into your mug. I used to be directly into my cup, but it s nice to watch it through the glass while the pour over is draining.Of course, this is thin glass, so you must be careful! I wash it occasionally in the dish washer without issues, but have managed to break a couple with my heavy ceramic pour over when I get a little clumsy.5Gotta love HARIO design!I love this carafe! It fits my glass V60 dripper so perfectly, together they look like they re part of a kit.Typical HARIO quality: the glass lip/spout has been designed not to drool after you pour coffee, which was a major messy issue I had with my Fellow glass carafe. My only critique to this carafe is that they could ve used some plastic that feels a little bit less cheap for the lid. I m sure it s great quality, but the lid feels a little bit on the cheap side. The glass feels premium quality, though.I m so satisfied with this carafe!5Good serverI picked this up with a V60 02 dripper to make myself a V60 set, though I bought the 800ml 03 size. I figured it would be good to have in case I decide I want an 03 dripper. So far I like using this instead of brewing directly into a mug so I can see the progress made. It is also nice to have if I want to use a travel mug, so I don't have too tall of a setup. It seems to be sturdy and well made. Only complaint is that water can get in between the plastic and glass. Microwave safe too, though I don't know what I would be using that for.5Don't buy Cheap, broke after the 3rd use. Crap glass. 1Does what it's supposed to doThis product does exactly what it's supposed to do: hold coffee. It does it well.I use with my Hario v60 02 and it is a good vessel to brew into. It fits on my scale (SC-2KG) and doesn't weigh so much that I would go over the 2kg limit, even when brewing 600-700 ml). It comes with a lid that probably helps keep the heat in longer but I haven't run any experiments on heat loss. If I make 500ml of coffee for myself, it is lukewarm by the time I finish drinking it but this is to be expected from any glass carafe that does not have thermal insulation.Aesthetically, I love it. That's the main reason I bought it. I don't like the look of the ridges on the more popular Hario range server but the nerd in me wanted to get an all-Hario pour over setup so I found this. Simple design, has ml and "cup" markings on the side (cup = 130ml).I'd recommend it for anyone doing pour over coffee with a v60 that wants something a little more simple-looking than the ridged range server.5
