Sharp and will not cut youWell, it will not cut you if you are just a little bit careful... The ceramic blade is very sharp and stays that way. Unlike a metal blade it does not rust or quickly lose its edge. You can put it in the dishwasher and it will come out clean and sharp, not rusty and dull. The Y-blade version is great for large vegetables like potatoes. If you want to peel thinner veggies, like carrots, Kyocera has another version. I have both.I have had different Kyocera peelers for at least 15 years. Eventually the plastic that holds the blade gets old and cracks. My peelers last around a decade before that happens. You can expect to use this for a long time. Enjoy.5Treat yo self.Good y peeler. The ceramic blade stays very sharp and it peels your normal veg like a breeze. I've broken a couple, but that was user errror. I dropped it on a stone floor one too many times. And then I was reallllly aggressively peeling squash and broke another one. So, don't drop them a lot and be carefully when doing heavy duty work. I keep a more standard, cheaper D frame peeler for when I want to do squash (and for some reason don't want to use my chef's knife). And there you have it.5Good This is my second Kyocera peeler and it seems to have a shorter blade width than my previous one. 4The older one lasted 12 yearsI searched my emails to find out when and where I had bought this same peeler and to my surprise it was March 2006. I bought 2 of them from a cookware site. The first lasted a couple of years, but the second one lasted way longer. Yes, this ceramic peeler lasted 12 years. The only thing I ever had to do for maintenance was clean it after use. The blade held up nicely this entire time, until it finally cracked. I can only hope that this new one will last as long.5Love this peeler Love this peeler. Our old ceramic one was chipped and getting grimy. The handle is okay--I have large hands. I like that it peels, but doesn't take too much of the flesh of the fruit or vegetable with the peel like our old one did. My husband likes the potato eye removers on the sides. I can even peel lemons with it and not get the pith, or cut into the juicy bit. 5Great peeler. Worth the price. We have always used Kyocera peelers. The colorful ones with white nodes tend to get stained and look dirty, so we are trying out a black one for the first time. These peelers are sharp and easy to use. Cleaning (the white bodes) have been challenging in the past. Eager to see how the black one holds up.5Wonderful kitchen tool!I am surprised that Kyocera, a company known for copiers/printers and photographic equipment also makes culinary tools. The Advanced CERAMIC Y PEELER is pretty amazing! This is the first time that I have used a peeler and good to know that I picked a good one.I easily peeled apples for smoothies and potatoes for home fries. The CERAMIC Y PEELER works effortlessly with a very sharp blade. The handle is easy to hold, grips nicely and the peeler does not move around. The blade is easy to clean and the peeler is easy to store. I like that this peeler is lightweight, non-corrosive, and lightweight. The non-corrosive blade will not rust or cause food to turn brown. There are two-sided eye corers to remove any fruit or vegetable imperfections, this helped with peeling potatoes.Having experienced other Kycocera technologies, there is no doubt that the CERAMIC Y PEELER is a quality product.5Indispensable!I already had a similar ceramic peeler and looking for a backup peeler so that I would never be without one...yes, they are that indispensable! This new peeler is just as good as my old one...and believe me, not all of them are! I bought the white one since it cost a little less than the other color options and color made no difference to me. However, after peeling a bag of carrots, the handle did have a little orange discoloration... that doesn t bother me since I was more concerned about performance. If it is an issue for you, you might want to order it in a darker color. I have only had this ceramic peeler for a couple of days so I can t rate its durability but I feel pretty good about it...even ordered 3 more for my daughters!5Many of the cheaper blades I've purchased that look a lot like this one have dull blades Unlike many other peelers that have this appearance, this one actually contains a sharp ceramic blade. Many of the cheaper blades I've purchased that look a lot like this one have dull blades, making peeling a pain. This one works well and is durable. Will likely buy again once the existing one breaks or dulls or whatever. Probably won't be for at least a year or two... or ever. 5A treat to use This is a great kitchen tool, and a wonderful stocking stuffer idea for any cook (or even anyone aspiring to eat more veggies). Peels like a dream, smooth and easy to use. Highly recommend! 5This thing could peel the mean off of Ebenezer Scrooge! I REALLY like the Kyocera peeler. The blade is razor sharp and makes it very easy to peel everything I have thrown at it so far. This included: potatoes, carrots, celery, eggplant, rutabaga and cucumbers. I have a fairly large, squarish hand with short stubby fingers but the handle fits well and is comfortable. I won't say that this peeler makes peeling vegetables fun but it does make it much less arduous. I would buy another without question. 5Y peelers are such a better designI have now thrown out all the other straight style peelers because these are so much easier to use and have so much less wasted produce.I only wish there was a hole in the handle so I could hang it easily5Outstanding This is the sharpest, most comfortable to use peeler I have ever used. Every time I use this I am impressed with its ease of use, and it does such a good job. 5Best Peeler I ve Ever OwnedThis is the best peeler I ve ever owned and is 100% worth the price. It s very smooth and satisfying to have such an easy clean peel. Hubby accidentally threw it away so we immediately ordered a second one.5My favorite peelerThis peeler is lightweight, very sharp, has a grip that fits my hand well and peels almost all vegetables and fruits short of acorn squash. You can even peel firm tomatoes without first blanching them to loosen the skin. The ceramic blade will stay very sharp for a year or more, even under daily use. Even after the edge wears down some, it still performs well, just not quite tomato-peeling well.5Use with extreme care.Be very careful with this peeler. It is extremely sharp. While peeling a potato it slipped and sliced off the tip of my pinkie. Blood was gushing everywhere. The wound took over a month to heal. I am not a novice with peelers. I have been cooking for decades. Just be careful.3
