Easy to use once you learn how! Great omelet maker but it took me quite a lot of deciphering of the directions since they were only in pictures! I had to go online to get better written directions and recipes. The first time I tried it, the egg almost exploded. I think I had it upside down! (The wider overlay part goes on top for first cooking, then turn it over midway in time.). The next time the veggies overcooked and the egg was too loose. I finally got it right because I called my microwave manufacturer! The trick is to use ONLY 800 or so watts! Instead of reducing the time of cooking, use half the power level or 50% power especially for our American microwave ovens. It is a cool gadget once you get it perfect for your particular oven but you have to watch it at first until you get it right. 4Didn't make a decent omlette - Not worth itI got this item and was excited to try it out - I tried a few times before getting rid of it. I was skeptical since it was microwaved anyway but was curious about the convenience that I could make a quick breakfast at work. The eggs stunk really bad in the microwave (you know those people that make fish or popcorn in a community micro at work). They also came out very rubbery after following the directions to a T and even trying with some tweaks. Just really not worth it.1I do love bringing my frittata maker to work and I accidentally ...Actually I bought the frittata makers which are much easier to use. My problem with the Silicon is that it's very wobbly when you are picking it up to put it in the mic so you can end up spilling all your eggs. I do love bringing my frittata maker to work and I accidentally purchased two and kept the second and gave it to someone. I have the same wobbly problem with that but I put a plate under it in the microwave. Nordic Ware has a great one I have used for long time. Overall it's still an awesome product which will keep you eating healthier then those bringing in Donuts every day at work.4Make your best omlet with this! Wonderful omlet maker. Roomy enough to add veggies, meats, shrimp, crabmeat & cheeses inside your omlet. I bought one for my home & one for my camper. My favorite is to add cheese, green or red bell peppers & bacon bits. This is used in the microwave & your finished omlet slides right out onto your plate. My husband & I usually split the omlet. It washes up very nicely in the kitchen sink or top rack in the dishwasher. Highly recommend. 5Not bad and not goodI've tried it once and don't like how the eggs look when they are cooked. They come out too dry which is the usual problem I have when I cook eggs in the microwave. The omelette maker barely holds two eggs when anything else was added, like vegetables. The taste is fairly good but not good either. Not how I want an omelette to taste. So I am now going to learn how to make omelettes in a pan. According to a youtube.com video instruction it looks easy but certainly a bit more time consuming than making one in the microwave.2Perfect,effortless omelettes every single time!I really like my Lekue Omelette Maker because it is quicker and easier than doing it the regular, old fashioned way. The best feature is not having to use oil because of the nonstick quality of the material used. I throw in raw veggies and microwave for a minute or so, then add cheese and eggs and my omelettes come out perfect.I recommend 2 eggs plus ingredients. Every time I have tried the 3 egg omelette, even with just a few ingredients I have leakage which is more a nuisance than anything since I do microwave using a microwave safe plate. There are not too many instructions on the sheet that comes with the omelette maker, so I googled recipes and instructions to make it a little easier. My 13 year old daughter loves to make omelettes now and I figure she is spoiled for life by not having to flip omelettes not to mention having to sautee veggies beforehand. I do recommend cooking bacon (or any raw meat) either on the stove or in the microwave before throwing it into the Lekue Omelette Maker. This is also a breeze to clean which makes clean up a lot easier in my home!Easiest ingredients:(cooking time varies according to Microwave wattage):2 eggssaltpeppercheesecooked leftovers: ham or baconraw leftovers: onion and bell peppersI toss a bit of raw onion and bell pepper and close the container, place on microwave safe plate and microwave for 30 seconds. (Additional time can be used depending on how fast they soften and cook in the microwave. I would add 10-15 seconds). Adding the egg (2 eggs scrambled with or without a bit of milk as desired, I went without) and cheese. Chopped bacon or ham can also be added. I cooked for about 1 minute then flipped it over and heated it an additional minute. I topped with cheese and pico de gallo for flavor. It comes out very hot and evenly cooked.Additional Tips:Try broiling the omelette for a minute or two before topping cheese and garnish. That often gives the desired cripsy effect without wasting a lot of time in the kitchen.Make several of these ahead of time, place in individual ziplock bags or storage containers and reheat either in the oven or microwave for busy weekday mornings.5LUV my Lekue(s)!Luv the Lekue.I make my omelettes for dinner. Mostly because I value the input but sometimes they just make me laugh. Let me start with this. If you can screw this up you probably have bigger issues in the kitchen. I bought this and then it sat in my cabinet for awhile, almost forgot it was there. One day I broke it out and followed the direction on the online video. That video is also available here. Here are a few Key things. Make sure you use 2 large eggs...not extra large and not 3. Make sure you understand the instructions are for 800 watt cooking so you may need to adjust your microwave power settings or adjust the time. Lastly don't over fill the vegetables. Leave a little room at the top. I have used this numerous times and have never had any issues. Makes a good Omelette. Does it replace the stove top version, probably not but it is not too far off. It is quick with easy clean up and you end up with a very good Omelette .......if you follow the directions.5Great price, Excellent product from LekueFast and easy omelet by microwave. Comes with a recipe book. Just be cognizant to follow the directions exactly! If you play around with the measurements, you could have an overflowing unit and a microwave mess. This advice from my own experiences as I tend to improvise on recipes. Also, you don't need as much olive oil as they suggest. Go maybe half. Try avocado oil as well for enhanced flavor.5Somehow amazingI was a bit skeptical of a product that microwaves eggs, but after using this several dozen times, I am a huge proponent. It's perfect for quick breakfasts on the go (I'm looking at you, rushed work week mornings), as well as beautiful looking weekend brunch omelettes. Yes, I would stick to 2 eggs in the maker, but I think the portioning is perfect, and I love adding whatever is lying around to the eggs (recently it's been ham, mushrooms, and spinach). All I do is whisk in a splash of milk for a fluffier omelette, sprinkle some cheese on top after it's cooked, and I'm happy as a clam. In terms of cleaning, I usually just rinse the maker in hot water to get excess egg off, and about once a month I'll do a light soaping with a sponge. Definitely worth a purchase for a neat (and might I add useful) product.5GreatI like this omelets maker. Its extremely easy to use and even without oil or butter, I didn't find that I had any "sticking" issues. I did butter it the first few times but I've been leaving it out. I think the key is your microwave. How long and how high the temp is will determine taste and texture. I didn't really go by the recipe booklet too much. With my microwave it really only takes a minute and a half for a two egg omelet. I bought this for work, so I had a protein option in the morning that wasn't a fast food breakfast sandwich full of God knows what. I've used spinach, mushrooms, onions and cheese so far with great success.4Pretty darn good!Pretty darn good. Took a few tries to adjust recipe to fit our preferences, but never a bad experience.The omelet is for sure fluffy and maybe even a bit wet so you might have to put in a pan to fry for a moment or two.Picture is after 1 min in fry pan to dry out, which is my preference.
