Great for Arthritic Hands Smaller than the one I purchased back in the late '70s but it works fine. Lightweight and easy to use. I had purchased one that required me to squeeze the handle and shake it to sift which was too much for my hands. This one just requires me to turn the handle to sift. I LOVE that about this one. I had this for about a year and a half and would purchase it again without a 2nd thought. 5Requires 2 hands; Issues with powdered sugar. The most important point to consider is whether or not you d prefer a one-handed sifter, instead of this one, which required both. After using it a few times, I regret not buying a one-handed one. My mistake, certainly. That said, this sifter doesn t seem to sift powdered sugar entirely, leaving clumps of it jumping over the sifting mechanism near the end, requiring extra effort,... which isn t convenient given that this device already requires both hands. 4I'm an avid baker and love this sifter Works really well. Just remember to let it dry completely before reusing it. And for those who have said that it "sprays" flour everywhere...they are either spinning it as fast as possible or they have over filled it. I have had no issues with it and use it several times a week. I'm an avid baker and love this sifter. 5Good value I bought an expensive sifter about 10 years ago. It finally showed its age so I wanted to replace it. This sifter is just as good for half the price.Pros:*Good quality*Smooth cranking motion*Light but sturdyCons:*Markings are estimates, not highly accurate*Tape used for label leaves residue on outside*Handle could be more ergnomicTips:Wash infrequently and when you do dry completely right away to prevent rust. I shake mine out after each use and store inside a grocery bag to contain any remaining dust.Overall a good value, happy with this purchase! 5Standard sifter, sturdy; appears to be stainless steel as stated. Standard sifter. The last one I owned for years and years, hopefully this one will be the same, since I don t use it very often. It does appear to be stainless steel as opposed to cheap tin, and it has a winder sifter, which is easy to use. 5Not the best quality I wanted a sifter for when I'm baking and need to sift dry ingredients. Unfortunately, this one didn't work as well as I had hoped. The crank started to stick almost immediately and I find it impossible to clean whether that means hand washing or just trying to wipe out residual dried ingredients. It's also very small for recipes (like pumpkin bread) that require larger amounts of dried ingredients. I've since given up on this and have returned to my mother's sifting standby: pouring ingredients through a mesh strainer/colander that I set on top of my mixing bowl. Live and learn. 3Love this sifter Love this sifter! It remains rust free after washed if you dry it with a towel, then let finish air drying over a warm stove top until completely dry. The adhesive residue from the sticker came off on mine. Only once it washed scrubbed/scratched with a fingernail. The size is perfect for home bakers alike! 5Does the job...but not sure about durability I'm not sure this sifter won't become a rust bucket over time. If you're not meticulous with drying, you see little rust spots starting to form. This is not something where you can wash it and leave it on the counter to air dry. 3Does the job. Not fancy, could be built stronger, but better than the alternatives available on the market locally or online! Compared to the other generally available type of sifter that employs a squeeze-mechanism in the handle, this is far and away superior, for 2 reasons. (1) This one is cleanable!!! Because it has only one screen at the bottom, all of the flour or other material can be easily washed out when you are done sifting. The squeeze-style sifters use multiple permanently pressed-in screens, and are prone to having materials getting stuck in between but never sifting all the way through. (2) This one is much easier on the fingers and hands. My wife has hand issues that would make using repetitive squeezing of the other sifter type impossible. Even I found that style to be extremely fatiguing very quickly when sifting even a small amount of flour. This sifter, on the other hand, with a crank style sifter mechanism, is very easy to use for longer periods of time without causing undue fatigue to the hands and fingers.I wish I could have found a better made sifter in general, with a heavier duty construction and sifting mechanism, but as I was unable to find such a tool, this was the best I could find, and so far it seems to satisfy the need. 4Works great! This sifter is the simple crank one that s probably in your Grandmother s kitchen and it s still around for a reason. They work well. This one is no exception and produces a finely sieved dry ingredient, without pushing through clumps that form in some ingredients. The price is great for the product ($9). And it s as easy to clean as can be! 5
