Customer Reviews

Fragile!!! ** Update - I've ordered 4 of these, and 4 broke within 5 uses. 2 heads snapped off on the handle, two had heads not fixed to the handle and they keep sliding off. I'm bummed, these were holy grail spatulas for me.BUYER BEWARE-- PREVIOUS REVIEW --Heaven in a SpatulaThis spatula has become a daily grabber for me. It's so flexible, I use it to:- spread oil on cookie sheets and silicone mats- spread batter into perfect rounds- get every bit of goodness out of my mixing bowls- loosen cooked goodies from the pan while still hot- scoop out every ounce of cream cheese from the containerIt's amazing. I love, love, love it so much I just bought a second one, because I'm always using it!Highly recommended. 5Narrow, but weak It's narrow, so it does fit into jars. It's too flexible to scrape everything out. I tried to use it with a yogurt container (so, not a narrow opening) and it couldn't muscle the yogurt out. It seems well made and is attractive, but not as strong as I wanted. 4Dust resistant, using with resin This is an amazing little spatula thing. Prior to buying this I was stirring my resin with popsicle sticks, paintbrush handles, toothpicks, and any other thin disposable items. Once the resin hardened on any of these objects, it was of no further use and had to be thrown away. All the silicone kitchen tools I could find at the store were far too wide for stirring liquids in small plastic cups. This is the perfect size, has a comfortable grip, and resin peels right off of it after it's dry.One note that might be reassuring to the majority of potential buyers for this, kitchen people, is that this has a different texture than most silicone utensils. This texture seems to make it so that it does not attract dust, hair or glitter like most silicone kitchenware. 5I can't live without these I love these little things. I bought a bunch a few months ago. Now I'm doing a lot more spatula-requiring work, so they are always in the dishwasher. I'm back to buy more of them. They are great for cooking, of course, and for what they are made for, which is scraping jars. But most frequently I use them for diy cosmetics. I experiment every day, making tiny batches of whimsical products to see if my ideas will work. Usually these start off in a round-bottomed shot glass. Then I need to scrape the glass to move the material to a larger container. These spatulas are the holy grail tool. There are no unnecessary edges or ridges, just one smooth, continuous piece of silicone, as easy to scrape off and clean as they are to use.I rarely use them with the handles attached. The handles are easily removed. Since I'm digging into shot glasses and small custard cups and beakers and such and then leaving them to sit in these vessels, the handles would only make them top-heavy.The handles are made of acrylic. For frosting cakes, they are just the right combination of stiff handle and flexy business-end. But I don't put the handles in the dishwasher, as acrylic tends to split in that kind of heat. Like the silicone end, the handles are elegantly smooth and easy to hand-wash. Clear thinking went into the whole design.Plus, they are blue, and pretty.Tip: When washing any spatula in the dishwasher, point the tip of the scraper UP, so that water doesn't collect in the hole into which the handle inserts. If possible, remove the handles before doing so, even if the handles can also go into the dishwasher--eliminates unpleasant surprises in the form of old dish water falling into your frosting. 5Flimsy I got this to use for my costco sized peanut butter jars when we get to the bottom. This is super flimsy and won't even scrape up any peanut butter. It just flops around. Super disappointed. 2Not very durable The tip comes off the handle too easily so it gets stuck in whatever you are mixing and then you have to reach your hand in to pull it out. 1Broke on first use. It broke the first time I tried to use it! I don't have a dishwasher so it wasn't heated or anything. The handle snapped about one inch from the head. 1Great spatula for jars but breaks too easily I loved this spatula, enough to buy a second one when the first one broke off right where the handle attaches to the silicone part after 6 years of gentle use. But then it happened to the second spatula after one year - I don't want to take my chances a third time! I see that others have had the same problem, but after much shorter times. I'm going to try something similar made by another company. 2It broke in less than 3 months of light use. After using this spatula for less than 3 months it broke right at the top of the handle. I used it only maybe 5-6 times total. Each time was with soft or liquid things. The hardest (although not hard at all) thing I used it for was putting a soft cream into an open topped jar. I always hand washed it so it wasn t wearing down from the dishwasher. After the first time of using the silicone top kept sliding off the handle. It was definitely lightly used so it has to be a manufacturing issue. It just simply isn t made to last. That s really unfortunate because if it worked correctly it would be great. Now I m stuck with a broke one and I m looking for a new one that s all one piece. 1handle snapped on first use and the silicone tip is ... handle snapped on first use and the silicone tip is much too soft. spend the money on the Crate and Barrel spatula with the wooden handle and the removable tip. I've had that one for over 8 years and it's still goodas new. 1
