Customer Reviews

Holding Up with No Buckling After One Year; Holds 28 oz. Cans We bought three of these for our new house one year ago. I love the organization it brings to the cans. It can hold 28 oz. cans on the top tier (allow for even more room in the cabinet) and the dividers are moveable, so I can shorten them for the small tomato paste cans, which then allows for taller cans to fit in (I put the TJ pear and peach jars). Our cabinet shelves are adjustable, so I didn't have to measure before purchasing. However, if your kitchen shelves do not adjust, you will want to measure first to make sure this fits. They're taller than they appear. Overall, they're holding up well with no buckling so far. I recommend and would repurchase. The photo I'm including is after 10 months of use. I don't remember them being difficult to put together like other reviewers have stated, but I am the sharpest pencil in the box, so...... 5Great space saver, well built looks great and organizes your pantry! I like to do woodworking for fun. In the next few months I will be removing the cheap builder installed wire shelving and put in a nice wooden unit in our pantry.I wasn't sure if I was going to make racks for holding cans or just buy one. As a "test" I bought one of these and I must say my wife and I are very impressed with the unit. So impressed that I just ordered an additional 3 units.I plan on building around these, There will be an angled shelving unit that will fit into the corner of the pantry. It will hold 3 of these with a shelving unit with adjustable shelves on either side of it.So you may be wondering if I bought 4 and only 3 are going in the pantry were is the 4th going? Well that's going downstairs in our second fridge (side by side)These racks are right under 18" wide just small enough to fit inside the fridge to store my beer! Each shelf holds 15 BIG soup cans cans (might hold 18 pop/ beer cans, haven't tried yet)Regardless 45 cans of beer nicely organized in the fridge will be great! The unit is RIDICULOUSLY easy to assemble. In fact i can't fathom why some people are complaining about putting it together. In fact if your having trouble putting it together its because you folded the back part the wrong way (the back and sides are all preambled you just unfold them)If I were to have 1 complaint it would be that the unit does requires assembly. I would have paid an extra $20 more per unit if I could have found one that was permanently welded together. This unit is very durable but a "welded" one would have been rock solid.I will upload a pantry and fridge picture within a few daysHey for those of you putting these on wire shelving run out to home depot and have them cut you down a panel of 1/8" fiberboard panel. Its usually available in brown or white and if you cut it to the depth of your shelf it helps distribute the weight and also supports this unit. 4Pricey? No, it's well worth the cost! I freely confess, I'm another one who thought at first glance that this item was overpriced. At one time in the misty past, I had something similar in the white plastic coated wire you see nowadays as shelving, only much flimsier. That product lasted all of a month or so before collapsing completely. Talk about not worth the price you paid! The Chrome Pantry Can Goods Rack is one of the better purchases I've made in the last year. I tried a few other solutions before buying this one because I was concerned about the price. Inexpensive lazy susans and tiered can shelves didn't what I needed: Organize a few cans of each type together, where I could see what I had at a glance. Many of the competitors are poorly made, and like my old white wire version, they fall apart easily, spilling cans everywhere. Some are poorly sized, like the tiered "can shelving" I bought that couldn't actually hold cans! And some just aren't suited to anything smaller than a 6 person family, like alternatives I've seen recommended here on Amazon, where you're intended to have 10 or more of any one kind of canned food. That's just too much for this two person household to store. This pantry organizer is a perfect storage device if you a.) Like quality built products; b.) Keep around 5 of any given canned item on hand at a time; and c.) don't want to be limited by the size of the cans you prefer. This unit can hold a tremendous amount without bending in the least, and it doesn't matter what type of cans you have. There's space for them all! The "wire" is heavy gauge, and the chrome hasn't chipped or flaked in 3 months of regular use.The only disadvantage would be overall size. To make a unit like this as sturdy as possible, you sacrifice the flexibility of making the width of the whole device adjustable, as it is on some lesser products. If you have small shelves, either by width, height, or depth, you'll want to measure carefully to ensure you have enough room for this rack. But if you have enough room, I can't say enough good things about it. This really helped alleviate a lot of irritation I had with my pantry. I only wish I could find other organizational products that worked this well for every part of my house. 5It's okay but needs some serious improvements - like a bag of zip ties So... trying to think of positive things to say here... Okay, here goes. It does what it sets out to do. It's big, has plenty of capacity and is made out of decent quality steel.Okay, that's the positives. The negatives? Assembling it is like trying to juggle cats. It's held together by nothing but tension, but you have to de-tension the sides to get the shelves in, sending previously installed parts flying. If you fold the sides out the wrong way, the shelves don't fit. Took me a few minutes to figure that one out. Then when you pick up the assembled unit to move it into place, it collapses. It has the structural integrity of a supernova. It need adjustable locks to tighten everything together. In the end, I zip tied it together to make it rigid. The dividers are pointless, the cans can't go anywhere but straight. I balanced the dividers on the shelves anyway. There's nothing to hold them in place besides gravity. Then when I finally got it onto my pantry shelf, I noticed it can tip forward if there are just a few cans at the front. Back to the zip ties again to tie it to the wire rack shelving. Now it's in place and secure it's okay, but it takes up so much space it kind of makes the whole thing redundant as an organizing solution. It feels like a half complete product. I can see some people getting annoyed by this thing. It's usable but you need to put more effort into assembling and using it than you should. Be prepared for headaches! 3Sharp points pierce holes in aluminum soda cans I ve had this rack now for a couple of months and I ve had to change my intended use of it. Originally, I bought this to hold as many 12 ounce soda cans as possible. It held 45 cans quite nicely 3 columns per shelf, with 5 cans in each column. However, I found that as we removed the first can in a column, the remaining cans in that column would sometimes roll down too quickly and one or more would fall over the edge. That was annoying, but not the real problem. The real problem was that as the cans rolled down and fell, some of them would develop a very tiny hole in the side and start squirting soda all over the place! I m not positive, but I think they banged into the pointed ends of the wires which reach from front to back of the rack, piercing a tiny hole in the aluminum can.I ve relocated all soda cans to two other racks the Shelf on Wheels Expandable Kitchen Pantry Roll Out with Wheels which I purchased a couple of weeks ago and placed on the floor underneath an antique Hoosier-like cupboard I have in my kitchen. This can rack will be moved to a different location to hold regular canned goods, which does seem to be its best use. 4Measure first.... but extremely happy We live in an apartment with limited storage space so I ordered this can storage rack to help organize and condense our canned goods.PROSSimple assembly required directions were easy to followSturdyMoveable guides allow for variable sized cansCONSIs about a half inch too tall for my shelves so I have to have it on my counters which does allow for easy access to things I use frequently but does take up limited counter spaceOverall I am very happy with this rack and will be ordering more and definitely would recommend to others. I would suggest doing what I did not and actually measure your selves if you intend to keep this in a cabinet. 5This is not for normal size veggie cans or even larger tomato juice cans I usually don't like to give bad reviews, however, I highly recommend that you read the reviews on this product before you buy.I bought this product to organize veggie cans in my cabinets. I received the product and tried to put it together. There were no instructions. So my daughter tried to put it together and figured out we were missing pieces. While putting trying to put it together we figure out that you would need to place this in a very large cabinet, this would not fit in a normal size cabinet. Also standard veggie cans or even tomato juice cans will not fit in this product. The spacing and sizing is very odd, we could not find a can that would fit nicely. The company did take this product back and gave me a refund promptly. I am still looking for a product to organized my veggie cans. 2Exactly what I was looking for to organize my dry goods pantry Rack is a bit frustrating to get together as others have mentioned, but it really wasn't as bad as some commenters make it out to be, and I found no sharp edges. The rack is quite large (larger than many ready-made pantry cabinets). Thankfully my pantry was custom-built by my husband with oversized and adjustable shelves, and this fit perfectly. My only real dislike is the metal rod row separators, so maybe consider my review as 4.5 stars if I it were possible to rate in half-stars. It would be better if they were permanently attached and could be slid along the length of the shelves to adjust the width for the cans being placed in that row. The metal rods used as separators do have a tendency to pop off as there is no way to actually secure them to the rack. That said, I am able to store three times as many cans in the same space as one layer of cans, without the haphazard stacking of multiple sizes of cans that fall on my feet while searching in the pantry for what I need. My rack doesn't quite sit perfectly level on the shelf in the pantry and the middle shelf of the rack does not stay secure to the "frame" of the rack, but it is very stable with the cans placed in it. I am not afraid of it falling apart and spilling cans everywhere. The construction is heavy duty enough that nothing sags under the weight of the canned goods. It works for the purpose it is intended for and suits my needs. 5Organize It All Can Rack (1866W) The Organize It All Can Rack (1866W) is a well made and durable item. The chrome plating stays cleaner than painted or plastic coated, which makes it easier to clean. I give this very well made can rack only 4 stars because I had to make minor alterations to put it together. Others complain that the back side of the rack is next to impossible to push together far enough to hang the shelves. This is because whoever bent the rear cross wires got a bit exuberant and closed the loops to tight. This can be fixed by taking a large flat blade screwdriver and spreading the loops out a bit (be careful so the sides don't pull out of the loop). This allows the sides to flex in enough for the shelf wires to set where they need to go. Next, use plastic hook and loop cable ties (many sizes available on Amazon) and attach the front corner of the shelves to the rack sides. For heavy cans a cable tie can be put in the center of the shelves at the rear, which will stop the shelves from sagging in the center. Once this is all done, take a heavy pair of channel lock type pliers and pinch the rear loops tight again (this requires brute strength and is not needed if the loop aren't bent out to far). With the above alterations the racks I have are very rigid and can be moved for cleaning (even with the cans on them) without falling apart. 4Expensive but I like it Measure before you order. Your pantry shelves need to be 15" deep. The height of this rack is 12.75" but you need additional clearance for the top row of cans. Doh! I figure 14" height from one self to the next or more if you store larger cans. I forgot to initially add the height that the top row of cans adds to the overall product dimensions when in use.I had the issue that many others have had where I can't get the back piece was too wide to get the shelves installed. You start by setting up the main frame into a sort of U shaped assembly. After thinking about it for a moment, I noticed that the wires that I'm trying to latch too would be closer if I flipped the | | edges of the U around. Then everything fit right into place. Now that it's assembled I looked at the instructions so I could label the step where this matters. Now I see this issue is BOLDLY noted in the instructions. Doh!If you have enough room and don't mind the cost, this rack is a winner. This really helped alleviate a lot of irritation I had with my pantry and expired canned goods. 5
