First, the metal seemed thinner than the 6 pairs I own. Second, usually the handles are brushed metal and the tips are polished. These were all brushed metal. Third, the locking mechanism sometimes works and sometimes doesn t. I ve owned multiple pairs of rosle tongs and the licking mechanism is second nature to me. So this isn t a user error issue.Either Rosle has decreased their quality or these are a pair of counterfeit knockoffs. 1DurableThis is by far the best in the industry for every person that BBQ s, very reliable gripping and unique lock-in mechanism that is awesome! Awesomeness 5Great, but there's a trick.I've always liked Rosle products, and these tongs are no exception. Solidly made, attractive, and very functional. BUT, it did take me far too long to figure out the locking/unlocking mechanism. For those of you who may buy these: it works with gravity. Point them up and squeeze to lock, point them down and squeeze to unlock. Hopefully this saves someone the frustration of figuring this out on your own. 5Not as good as smaller version.I have the smaller version of the locking rings and love them. I got these for grilling but the locking functionality doesn t work very well. 2Good for grill if they work one-handedFirst tongs had bad hinge which prevented one-handed use. Replacement was satisfactory but slightly less quality as my R sle tongs from 2011. Works as advertised. 4Great toolsLove this brands locking feature. It's clever and works well. Requires explaining to new users. 5My favorite tongsWe like these tongs so much, we have two in the BBQ length and several in a shorter length and they are used constantly. I got rid of all our old tongs. I also give these has hostess gifts to people that I know enjoy cooking. So imple to use, a flick of the wrist opens them and closes them. Very solid construction. 5Poor quality compared to years agoHusband and I are both professional cooks/chefs. We ve had some Rosle tongs for years. We purchased these 17 tongs are utter crap in quality compared to the ones we ve had for 8 years.They aren t made the way they used to be. Rosle should be ashamed. 3
