Customer Reviews

Matte silver; not as good as the black onesThis is a matte silver sharpie; not shiny nor chrome-like. It IS more siver than gray.I used it to re-highlight the embossed numbers on a credit card that had faded with use. It appeared to do a great job, but even after drying completely, some silver rubbed off on my thumb. Once that initial "excess" was gone, the rest stayed on, for now - even with vigorous rubbing, but it was disappointing that it wasn't as fully permanent as a black sharpie.... the highlighting is less bright (and slightly patchy) than when I initially applied the marker. 4These did not work well at first.I use similar black Sharpies all the time, and have always been very satisfied with them. They last a long time.Edited the review 10/17/19 bc I found out what the problem was that I was having. When I first got them they were marking very light - unacceptable. I thought it was bc they were dried out. But that was not the case. I later discovered that the problem was just the opposite. The paint pigment was mostly separated from the solvent. I first took a Kleenex and absorbed the solvent into the tissue. Then I shook them very hard for a long time to get the pigment back into solution. After that they began marking darker -- acceptable. The tip gets too FAT to fast and results prevents marking with small letter size.Sharpie needs to institute some quality control operations on this product and redesign the tip... 3DryI written at least 3 words with both pens before they gave out. Just completely dry right out of the packaging.Update: I was given a new set of markers and I was like, ok, they tried to fix it.. but after using the new markets the results were kind of bad and well, here s something show. See picturesI m not sure of the picture shows it clearly but this marker set I received is still dry. It skips and you can see it on the sticky note. The life span of this product is going to be rather short and you will not get the typical use out of it. 1If you have multiple power-bricks, these are for you!I recently reviewed a power strip on Amazon, and attached a photograph as part of the review. A kindly Amazon customer saw from the photograph that I was using Kableflags Kableflags KFA001 Cable Identification Tags (DIY Blank Pack) to label my multiple cords that were plugged into the powerstrip. He recommended I use this product to label my power-bricks instead. Brilliant. Mind you, which I still Kableflags for cords that do not have power bricks, but these markers are GREAT for those that do (since the Kableflags, while great, CAN migrate up power cords sometimes, or get turned around such that they are not as easy to find/read). So, thank you kindly reviewer who took time out to contact me. These are great. 5They Work, but Not For LongI like the shine these markers have, but they run out really quick and become more of a gray marker. I had to go through 8 of these silver 'metallic' sharpies to complete a project of mine. Although I did finish the project, I had to repeatedly buy new sets of markers since they would turn into 'gray' markers. If they could fix the longevity of the silver shine, then these would be amazing markers. They also tend to run out of ink in general very quick as well compared to their regular sharpies. I would recommend just using painters tape and silver metallic spray paint if you plan on using these for a minor art project. It would be cheaper and and probably faster given the time you save in waiting for new markers to arrive or the time to drive to the store to buy these. 3Long-Lasting and Super Easy to Read!https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XH1I59M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 were the plant/flower markers that I bought for my garden, which houses many varieties of black or nearly-black flowers. Since I had black tags, I could not use a black sharpie. I was so happy to have found these silver markers. They've lasted through daily waterings, Spring rains, and Summer's heat, sun, and humidity. I have no doubt they'll last through a Buffalo winter, too. Highly satisfied with these markers. 5Not permanent at all...Not permanent at all. Used this on an old keyboard with fading letters on the caps. The metallic permanent marker survived 2days of typing. After 2days the keyboard caps are blank caps again. Totally erased from normal typing presses. Rubbing it with my fingers the marker's ink easily comes off on plastic. Oh well, win some, lose some. Will definitely never buy again. I'll stick with the regular Sharpie Markers, those are way more permanent than this one. 2Great value!I was looking for some metallic markers to use for scrapbooking but didn't want to spend a lot of money. These metallic sharpie markers only cost about $2 and the quality is excellent! I wrote on a piece of black construction paper and you can't really tell from the picture but it came out better than expected.Would definitely recommend! 5Will not last long at all.I bought this for their claim that it works well on plastic and wont fade. I did exactly that and let it site for the night and by after noon next day it faded. I used it to color a black button. Also it is kind of transparent where you can see the real color of the item it was used on, though i used a lot of it. 1I thought these were supposed to be PERMANENT markers? ...I thought these were supposed to be PERMANENT markers?? Well, it definitely is NOT permanent on what I bought them for -- to write the letters on my laptop keyboard that have worn away. After carefully doing this, I started typing (I'm a medical transcriptionist) and most of the letters were rubbed completely off within 15 mins of typing. : ( However, I am sure I will think of other uses. But just know they aren't permanent on everything. 3
