Customer Reviews

Exactly as expectedI use these (paired with #6 drilled rubber stoppers) to make mead in one gallon glass jars. I have no complaints. They clean easily and are exactly what I expected. 5Works great Works great even with a vigorous fermentation after a week I have experience very little evaporation 5A good airlock for home brewing, and a stocking stufferI've always used three-piece airlocks in my home brewing, but decided to try the twin-bubble version to see if I liked it any better. I honestly don't know. This is easier to work with from the standpoint that you don't have to assemble the three separate pieces. You just fill this to the "max" line with vodka or santizer, pop on the cap, and plug it into your fermentation vessel. That's slightly easier than the three-piece models, but that's like saying one kind of door knob is easier than another to turn.I used this on a recent yeast starter and it worked well until the yeast inside it started to go a bit crazy. Then the airlock became contaminated. I found that this model is harder to clean than the three-piece variety when there is some blow-off, since you can't really disassemble this. All you can really do is run hot water and soap through it until it "looks" clean and sanitary. The three-piece models you can disassemble and clean better. These make good stocking stuffers for home brewers, as having extras on hand means you can toss one out if it breaks or gets too gunked up for your liking... and they're inexpensive. 4Easy to setup and looks/functions better than most airlocks I've used. This airlock is great, never leaks and helps me keep and eye on how my fermentation is progressing better than the traditional 'cylinder shaped' air locks. This airlock seems to bubble much more consistently and allows me to tell exactly when fermentation is slowing and eventually has stopped. One BIG advantage to this airlock is that it allows me to cold crash the carboy with the airlock on. Previously, I've had problems with the negative pressure from all the room temp air condensing in the fridge. This would suck all the star-san solution into my beer. I don't think it mattered to the flavor profile much, but this airlock has NEVER had that issue after about 10 cold crashes. Its the little things that make switching to this airlock worth it.This airlock isn't a total re-invention, but it does make some small improvements that make my life as a homebrewer a bit easier. 5Great dealI find this style airlock easier to use and to see what s happening with the fermenter. 3 pack for a great price makes it easy to sanitize the next one while the first is still in use. 5best bang for your bucktry and buy these locally and you will pay for one what you will pay for 3 on here. they work perfect for beer or wine. 5Too fragile! These are great in theory, but they really need to be handled only with the gentlest of hands because they're so fragile, made of very thin, brittle plastic. Once one cracks, it's all over. Far better are the three-piece (funnel shaped) airlocks (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041F2DL4), which are not only robust but also very easy to clean. These twin-bubble airlocks are a royal pain to clean. 1Stop using balloons.a bag of balloons is about the same price... But this is potentially infinite uses, and what would you trust to be more sanitary; a wrinkly balloon or a smooth clear plastic? 5A must have for home brewing There is not a lot that can go wrong with an Airlock, but I'm definitely happy with this set of Airlocks and the price is pretty good too, compared to buying the same product in a brewing supply store. For those of you not very familiar with Airlocks, this is a device that is needed when brewing things like beer, wine, meads, etc. You fill it with water up to the line half way across the two bubbles and you place it on top of your fermentation vessel. The airlock will allow the gas from the fermentation to escape while keep air and contaminants out.I took a quick video to show you how it is in action. If you found this review helpful, please consider giving me feedback below. And, if you have any questions, let me know, I'm happy to help. 5Good product for the price.Very light weight plastic, but I guess it is okay for the price. I got a 3 pack and the one I used so far seems to be working well.I am pleased at how quickly these arrived in my mailbox, but the plastic envelope was flimsy so am surprized none of them got cracked. 5
