Works great!Coming in and out of garage hadn't noticed hornets taking up residence in 14' deep porch. No place to run so bought this suit. Got 10 nests today and nothing got me but they sure tried. I wore jeans, sweatshirt, and rubber boots with it just in case. It was 100 degrees and I did sweat. Sprayed them, knocked down nests, and swept them up with no problems. I'm 5'9", 135 lbs. and I'm wearing a men's large. Again, these were hornets, not bees, and it worked fine. I thought the price was great.5Disappointed in the jacket This has turned out to be a very disappointing purchase, especially considering the good reviews that this jacket has received. After the first use of this jacket, I was already dealing with 2 issues. The first issue is that the zipper no longer zipped. The zipper would slide across but it would not join the 2 pieces that need to be connected, which obviously is a problem. Secondly, the netting in front of the face started unraveling after the first use. We sewed the gaps back together in the 3 spots it unraveled, but we noticed the problem was spreading to other spots. My hope is that I just got a faulty jacket and that their whole line is not to this quality, but I have to say that this jacket has been one big problem. 1Good bang for the buck.Nice. I put it on like a sweater; its lightweight and not too hot. I did not use the zipper and don't see a need to ever use the zipper. The fabric is lightweight but appears strong enough to prevent a sting. My bees seemed to almost ignore me completely when using this bee suit. Previously I had not been using a bee suit, either nothing or glasses and a hoodie, but this was obviously a lot more comfortable and cooler. I've only used it the one time, but so far I'm very pleased. Good bang for the buck.5Its almost like EVERYTHING was made biggerread several reviews about this product before purchasing. Since I live in the desert, wanted something that wouldn't be too hot during the summer, but roomy enough for something under it when the weather was cooler. Am 5'9" tall and 225, with most of my weight in hips, butt, and stomach. In a man's shirt I'd wear a medium, for an overshirt a large, for this I ordered the XL looking for roominess without pulling or tugging or stressing. Sleeves are long enough that I can pull them over the tops of my gloves (wrist length) and they don't pull up no matter how I move. The overall length is enough to pull down low so there is no pulling up and exposing skin no matter how I move. The elastic is snug around my butt, but its a big butt and its not ripping apart. The only down side is the amount of looseness in the hat part. It comes off my head and flops in front of my face as I bend over and needs to be readjusted every time. Its almost like EVERYTHING was made bigger. But in general, its a good item, does what you want, protects thoroughly, the pocket is handy, but not roomy when the top is pulled tight as it is on me. Am very pleased with it overall.4Good for Alaska bugs, not for beesThe screen mesh does not stay off the body when bending over, so bee stings are possible. The top of the head is protected by thin material and wearing a hat is difficult since the zipper system is inconvenient. Stay away if bees are the least bit aggressive....2Nice and big & very lightweightNice and big & very lightweight. Now I don't know how well this would do with aggressive bees, mine are pretty docile so I only need this when I'm in the hive for a long time and they start to get agitated and start telling me to leave. This top is good to keep the bees from getting to your head or in the folds of a your shirt.I'm not a super big guy but I am 6' and slim, the sleeves are plenty long and the hat is not tight. It feels like putting on an oversized sweatshirt but one made of lightweight yet stiff fabric. I imagine someone around 250# would be comfortable in it. The hood has a zipper to open but does not come off completely. The bottom and the cuffs have elastic to keep everything out that is not trying too hard to get in.This is not a wear it every day quality, it's a wear it a few times a season for a couple hours quality. But if you are not rough with it and take care it should last several years.I gave it five stars because I am judging the quality by the price paid and in that it is a good value.5Great quality at a tattered rags price!Whoa! These sell for $50 at my closest chain farm store. I usually prefer to buy my bee stuff from my local farm co-op or beethinking but my hood crapped out on a month when money was tight and here we are. I kind of assumed that for the price this would be disposable, but the quality is actually really good! The hood zips off the top; the mesh is sturdy and easy to see through; the sizing is accurate! I'm super pleased. Five stars for way exceeding my expectations.5The quality of this for the price is excellent. I just used it this weekend on a ...The quality of this for the price is excellent. I just used it this weekend on a very aggressive hive and it worked great - no stings. I am 6'1" and 200 lbs., it was plenty large enough. The material is a heavy canvas, so I would advise wearing a sweat shirt or sweater underneath in situations where bees are in attack mode. The veil had good visibility. I wear a ball cap underneath it and it helps keep it from shifting around - anyway probably not a problem. The pocket on the front is useless as every time one bends over, whatever is in the pocket falls out.4Good value for the money.I just finished my first summer as a beek. I started out using this smock. As some of the reviewers pointed out, you have to be vigilant to keep the screen/mesh from touching your skin. The hat brim is fairly sturdy and does a pretty good job at keeping the mesh in place but I found myself getting sidetracked while working the hive and the mesh would fold against my face. The size was pretty accurate. I'm 5'7" at 200LBS. I wear XL shirts so I bought this in an XL. It fit fine. Kinda baggy just like I wanted it to be. The material was sting-proof. The front pocket is very handy. The bottom of the smock is an elastic band. I have an aggressive hive and they eventually found a way up under the elastic band and I got stung 5 or 6 times on my belly. I then purchased a full suit for working the hive. I now use this smock for quick non-intrusive inspections or for visitors to wear at a distance.3This is perfect for what it is.Let's face it, this is not the suit for you if you are a commercial bee keeper. It is thin and does not seem to be super rugged. It probably won't hold up to daily use. However, it is good for the backyard beek that gets into their hive once a week. It is perfect as a backup suit. It is perfect for a second suit for when you want to show someone around your hive(s). It is ideal for keeping in the car with your nuc to catch those swarms. My wife does the bulk of the beekeeping chores, so I didn't want to spend $100+ on a second suit for me. For $20, this is exactly what I needed. I'm going to get two more for each of the kids.I'm 6'2" and 230lbs. XL was loose on me which is what I wanted.5Good fit even for tall personI really don't like getting stung so I always wear a suit and gloves. Our hive is generally passive but dropping a frame the other day made them rather unhappy. I'm tall (6' 5") but the fit was ok. The netting on the hat goes all the way around... Good for air flow but the fit caused the netting to lay against the back of my neck. Was just waiting for a bee to land back there and decide that was a good target. Solved that issue by laying a towel across the back of my neck inside the suit.So far, good value for the price. Will very likely purchase another.4
