I really like it! I am a Caregiver for an 86 year old lady who has Alzheimer's and temperature correlations don't seem to reach her brain anymore -hot/cold, inside/outside, upstairs/downstairs or winter/summer. One day it was 90 degrees outside and because she was in the basement, where it's cooler. She came upstairs to TURN ON THE HEAT! I was literally DYING. I would turn off the heat and turn on the AC and she would come back up and put the heat on, so - I bought this fan to save my life. :)It's a great little fan for personal use! I sit it on the table 12 inches from me - on low and it's just perfect. Plenty of air for me! The tilt on it didn't work initially. It wouldn't stay where I put, so I just tightened the little screws on the pivot and that fixed it. We had a larger Vornado for years until my son broke it. They are made very well. They are getting a LOT more expensive though from when I bought the larger one many, many years ago. $30 for this little fan is a lot, but it works and I NEEDED it. If you need a "personal" fan, I highly recommend this one. 5I love this cool fan!! I purchased this fan a couple of months ago when time came to stop using the air conditioner for the year, and I found I needed relief from the hot flashes I've started having at night. The bedroom gets stuffy, and despite having a ceiling fan, more air movement was needed to keep me happy and sane in the wee hours of the morning when my inner furnace tends to get stuck on "high" and become disruptive to my husband and whatever cats are contributing to the heat misery by sleeping on my feet. This fan has been the perfect solution. It is small, lightweight, and just right for my nightstand. The base is short and wide enough to provide stability despite the aforementioned cats. There are only two settings - high and low - but that's all you need. The head swivels and adjusts easily, and it quietly moves a LOT of air. Also, "Vornado" is a fun name. 5Moves air directionaly Most fans spray air out the front in a fashion not unlike a lawn sprinkler. Everything in front of it gets some and in 3 feet the air movement is lost all its speed and direction. Vornado fans have always put out a solid stream of air that stays cohesive for quite a way. Not whisper quiet but on low its gentle white noise, not distracting to me. I have a L shaped desk, I point it directly at my computer monitor and the air spills off that and ruffles loose papers on the left side of the desk, never directly blowing on me. I prefer it above all other fan types, including those crazy fan-less air hoop thingys. 5I've purchased three of the slightly larger cousins of this ... I've purchased three of the slightly larger cousins of this fan over the past few years two of which lasted for about 3 years then the motors seized up. I'd originally purchased the larger ones to circulate air in an apartment that does not have air conditioning. It turns out that I didn't need that much power in my living room (I kept the fan on low or medium) so, when that fan died a couple of days ago I decided to go with the less expensive model. It is about $20 cheaper and the trade-off is that it definitely does push air around the way the others did. but it works okay. Hoping that it will last at least as long as it's more formidable cousins. 4Good little fan This fan/air circulation has smooth operation. Was replacing a fan in a child's room who can't sleep without some slight noise. This does the trick and does help to circulate the air around and it can be position in multiple positions including directly up at the ceiling. My children thought it was great as it can suspend a balloon in the air for a while when pointed just right - they discovered this by accident of course. 5Disappointing I returned this and bought the Honeywell fan for $11 here on Amazon. This Vornado fan, despite appearing very well built, just does not blow out enough air. On it's low setting, from arms distance, I barely felt anything. On it's high setting it feels like the low setting on the Honeywell $11 fan. This might be great if you work in an air conditioned office and just want a little bit of air moving around. It just didn't work for me. 3Shy of the 5yr mark! This can is quiet enough to have on your desk at work. I rated 3 stars because it state will work 5 years guaranteed and mine burned up just shy of 3. I purchased back in dec.2015 and today I smell burning motor. I only used at work on low setting, but today I have to unplug the vornado (sad face). I recommend this fan to anyone that need air circulation in small space. Thanks 3Decent This is a decent little fan. Mine ran for about 4 years nonstop then suddenly just quit. Fortunately they have a 5 year warranty. You can expect this fan to make rattling noise when you turn it on but it will go away after a while. I suggest skipping this fan and getting the larger model, the 660, which is an amazing fan. It moves more air on slow speed than the 133 moves on high.Like I said fortunately it has a 5 year warranty. I called Vornado and they offered a free replacement. I asked if I could have credit toward a bigger model and they gave me a great credit toward the 660 which I took. And I am glad I did. I won't write a review about it on Amazon because I got it direct from Vornado. But I highly recommend the Vornado 660 over the 133. 4Smaller than I realized It s worked okay so far. I should have measured the one I was trying to replace, but my tape measure went missing for a little while. It s small, and decently powerful on high. This would be fine for an office cubicle or maybe a small space, but it s not powerful or large enough for a small-medium size bedroom. My two sons had a fan that was their favorite, but Honeywell doesn t make that model anymore (trust me, I have scoured the world and online to no avail) and Vornado was recommended. If I could afford the larger one, I d definitely give it a shot, but it s just not in the budget right now. It s not a horrible fan, just not what we were needing and I wish I d given another model a chance. Just my two cents on this particular fan. 3My favorite little fan This little fan really is directional. Small enough to take with me when I travel by car. Had another one of their models in a marine environment on a boat and it was on for months at a time ventilating fiberglass sanding dust. I even think it has epoxy dripped on it. Has lots of thin vents everywhere to clean, but that s part of the design. Will buy another when this one expires ...but don t known when that will be. 5
